Sorry to tell you a common problem with these sets. It is a bad capacitor in the main power supply.. There are really about three of them that go bad from time to time to cause this problem... If your not a tech you should find an authorized repair facility as a non authorized is not going to know what to do to fix it and it will most likly cost you double to repair. Good luck and let us know how you got it fixed.

SOURCE: power shuts off and blinks red .
I had a similar problem, but mine didn´t switch on when pressing on button, I had to take the back cover off and hit the relays, it seems they get stuck, and are difficult to find to replace them. Now it has been working during almost a year with no problem at all. Mine is 4 years old.

Fujitsu have issued Service Bulletin covering these shutdown problems- see link below :-
I suggest implementation of this bulletin by a service technician may cure your problem.

I have a solution. My Samsung plasma had the same problem with the bottom half of the screen being black. Follow these directions and it will not cost you a dime, just some time. I took the back panel of the tv. I found the lower buffer board on the left hand side. I disconnect all the ribbon cables. Use an air cleaner to spray out any dust on the ribbon connection and the board. I connect the ribbons back to the board. My plasma is now as good as new. If you have issue with the top portion, do the same with the upper buffer board. I was going to buy a new tv but I'm glad I gave this a shot first. It's been almost a month and it's still working fine. Hope this helps and hope it saves you some money.
