I'm going to take a trip to England soon with my laptop, and I was wondering what I need to do to be able to plug it in to a different kind of plug and current.

i would just buy a universal laptop adaptor while i was there with the correct voltage for the laptop.... they do make travel adaptors tho i'm uncertain how well they actually work.

Toshiba laptop tripped for heat

Check to see if fan area has does in it. You can either take apart and blow dust out or try blowing without taking apart. I would take it apart. Also, check for firmware update which may address overheating problems.

Hi my names robert england \r\nI was wondering if the the graphics card of my TOSHIBA Satellite C660D-14W can be replaced with a more heavy duty graphics card like a NVIDIA Ge-Force thanks.

Sadly a graphics card on a Notebook/Laptop cannot be replaced as the graphics card is built into the motherboard of the laptop, you would have to buy a new laptop to get a better graphics card

Sadly graphics cards in Notebooks/Laptops cannot be replaced as the current graphics card is built into the motherboard, this is the downside of having a Notebook/Laptop as the only things you can really upgrade is the RAM or the Hard Disk Drive

Blank screen on Toshiba laptop

Are you fairly comfortable with taking apart your laptop? Purchasing a new LCD screen on ebay is both easy and affordable. The screen that you need is a 15.4" WXGA LCD Screen and can be found for less than $100. You could type in your laptop model number and you should be able to pull up a wide selection of LCDs to choose from. I would try to find a local computer shop that works on laptops and would be willing to replace the screen for you, or look up a guide on how to replace the LCD yourself.

Toshiba

There is a jumper on motherboard, or you can remove the motherboard coin battery for one minutes.
Both ways to reste bios involve taking apart the laptop to access the motherboard.
You will need to disconnect power adaptor and remove laptop battery before disassembling the laptop.
If you do not have experience in disassembling laptops I suggest to having it done at a repair shop.

Help with taking laptop apart

I have a toshiba satellite p105-s6024, and have had to take it apart multiple times. I have also taken apart the a105 series, and they both presented me with this problem. i finally found the solution when i took off the top panel that houses the power button (P105), or the panel with the speakers (A105). It can be snapped off with a small flat screwdriver at about 4-5 snap points along the border of the F-keys and the black trim of the top panel. under there you will find 3 screws for the keyboard, and four screws for the monitor hinges (2 per hinge). I hope this helps! if you need pics, i'll be taking it apart again soon, just e-mail me at cytokinesis55@Yahoo.com
