How do I recognise tomato blight ?? do the leaves go brown and how can I treat it

prevention is better than cure. It is a fungal attack. Pictures and info in the link.

How do you prevent early blight?
  • Rotate crops. Early blight remains active for a year. Spores can be dormant in the soil for several years.
  • Plant disease-resistant hybrids to strengthen your plant's chances of being blight-free.
  • Plant tomatoes in a raised bed to improve drainage and prevent diseases from spreading.
  • Give tomato plants extra space (more than 24 inches) to let air to move among leaves and keep them dry.
  • Water the soil - not the plants - to prevent splashing. Avoid overhead watering.
  • Mulch with black plastic or landscape fabric to prevent fungus from spreading up onto leaves.
  • Stake tomato plants for better circulation.
  • Remove and destroy affected plants at the end of the season.

I had a turps five years ago, and a vasectomy 30 years ago. Could I impregnate someone if I had the vas reversed and harvested the seed, and had it injected into them by-if FERTILIZATION?

Turps is the abbreviation for turpentine substitute?

Doctors doing vasectomy stopped putting clamps or ties on the tubes due to pregnancies, so doctors routinely removed 1 inch of tube and tied them off. The makes reversal tricky. Best idea is to save the trouble and harvest seed from your testes direct.

Go talk to a doctor.

I have 4 tomato plants that are full of large green tomatoes but they will not turn red. What can I do to get them to ripen?

Grant, an interesting problem. Not knowing the environment, I searched for methods to force-ripen tomatoes; this site looks promising:

    http://homeguides.sfgate.com/force-tomatoes-ripen-64525.html

If it's just too cold, the tomatoes won't ripen on their own. The above site advocates picking the tomatoes and bringing them inside to ripen, among several other potential solutions.

There are also recipies you can try with green tomatoes (other than frying). After the first frost of the season, I made a tomato chutney that was excellent following this instructable:

My tomatoes are splitting and have rings on skin

Not a router related question, but I grow tomatoes as well. It happens when the tomato develops from the flower on the plant. It is a natural process which factory grown (and tasteless) tomatoes generally do not feature. As the tomato expands, due to plentiful water, the skin might not grow as fast since it needs an adequate amount of sunlight to both help the tomato's skin to develop and to eventually turn red. it is very common but sometimes if the tomatoes are left on the plant too long, those rings tend to split open, even if you think the tomato is still too small to be harvested. once tomatoes are nice and red, pick them rather than waiting for them to get bigger, because they will bust at their seams. You can even pick partially red tomatoes and let them sit on the window sill in the sun to have them compturn red.....now about the router issue.....

My husband used round-up on our lawn thinking it would only kill weeds. The whole lawn has big yellowed dead patches. It's been raining for two weeks and everyone's lawns are lush and green :( Is...

A lot depends on what part of the country you are in and if you have cool season or warm season turf. Cool seasons are fescue, bluegrass, perennial rye, etc. Warm seasons are bermuda, zoysia, centipede, St. Augustine, just to name a few.

If its cool season turf, you could heavily aerify, fertilize, and re-seed right now. Hope for rain through the summer, or use irrigation of you have it. For my area, early fall is the best time for seeding cool season grasses. If it was only Roundup you should have no lingering effects from its application.

If its warm season turf, it may not actually be completely dead, especially if the application wasn't done properly. Your lawn may just be sick. It actually can take a lot of chemicals to permanently damage most warm season turf. If thats what you have, some water and fertilzer may improve the appearance. Beyond that, sprigging or sodding may be your only option, since not many warm seasons are available by seed.

Time will help both situations, especially the latter.
