If u press eject u get the cd out, it turns on and displays the eject message and then shuts down, same thing when laoding, it loads a cd , give u the message of loading, and after a few seconds it shuts down. I suggest removing the negative battery cable and installing a 12V test light between the cable end and the negative post. If the light is lit bright you indeed have a major draw. You can now start unhooking circuits until you find the source of the draw. I would start at the main wire from the alternator. This is a likely culprit as if a internal diode goes bad it will cause a dead short, but the alternator is still able to charge.
White/green also check and see if your switched 12v and constant 12v are correct I have had one that wires were flipped in the manufacturing process... good luck
I am not a radio guy but i think there are two 12v wires , one is constant power and the other is for alumination. see if anything changes if you turn the headlights on.
Yes you can wire it to the cigar lighter. The only problem is you will have to manually shut the radio off. I would find a 12v source with power only in ignition on position . You can go to the ignition switch for that. Good luck.
Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, SD Cards, memory cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, hookup cables, the AC Adapter, and Sensor Bar) from the outlet and Wii.
Let the system rest for about 90 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that controller cords, AC Adapter, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
After the 90 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. Check to see if the power light on the Power button comes on.
there is 2 wires for the stereo. a CONSTANT 12V wire and an ignition wire. make sure theirs power going to both. check all the fuses even accessories fuse. you may need a test light and have to remove the stereo out of the dash to check for power. also check the grounds
The car stereo has 2 +12V inputs: the constant batt input and the key in one. So actually the stereo is always connected to +12V, even in standby. When you turn your key, the key in input also starts, thus starting your stereo instantly. When you turn the ignition on, the key in input is switched off for a couple of seconds, so that all the power goes to starting your engine. After that key in input should be back on - this is your problem here.
One possible solution would be to cut this wire out, and split the RED battery +12V cable so that it enters in the key in input as well. Check wiring diagrams!.
Test this with cables out (without reinstalling the whole thing back in) and if it works.......leave it and put everything back in.
Only downside is, you have to turn off the radio by hand when you exit your car - or you could lose all battery power !
i have the same amp and have that same issue before. yes you are correct that if you take off the RCA cables on the input there will be no light. either you have plug the remote line on the 12v or a grounded sub. it should be 12v/remote/ground from the corner. good thing im just fixing my sub earlier. it is no problem if you have hooked the remote line on the 12v, it is the same supposed to be. to check if your amp is working, short the 12v/ and the remote line and play your stereo and see if your sub is working. by the way, what sub are you using? i just blew my sub and need a new one.
