First of all, did you run the windows 7 compatibility test ? Do you get a splash screen for HP? If you do you need to go into boot and make sure it's booting from the DVD player. Call me after you get this done and we can try something else. If you can't get the splash screen up, you have a serious problem!

Start your system enter BIOS, under the configuration settings disable SATA NATIVE MODE. Save changes and exit. Boot from the CD format.

Windows 7 is not yet officially released(only the beta(testing) version is out)
Hence forth there are not drivers available for windows 7. Click on the link below to see all the available drivers for your laptop.

My solution was looking ot system information,see Bios you have to score,l reinstall l will ask you to write new password,you can get off on the hp.com,Luch
