Check to make sure you don't have a staple stuck under the hammer. If the spring feed is working, then something is keeping the staples from sliding under the hammer. Can you hear the hammer hitting? Does it leave an impression on the wood?

MOTORCYCLE BATTERY GOES FLAT

Have you checked the charging output from your alternator? With the engine running, you should get about 14 volts across the battery terminals. If the battery is good, after a charge you should get a reading of around 12.7 to 13.2 volts. If the voltage is less, especially with the motor running, you may have a charging problem due to rectifier bank failure or battery breakdown due to "overcharging" if the reading is above 14 volts. [This is also a rec' fault]. My assumptions are that this batt' goes flat when run on the bike after a full charge. I hope this helps a bit.

Can I use a dewalt 18 volt dc9098 battery on the dc385 Saw?

If you have the handle disigned for the lithium battery becareful using the 9096 battery as it moves in the handle a lot and can hit the terminal on the switch wrong and bend it or break it. Also it will get a lot of vibration when running and because it doen't have the support that it needs for a 9096 it wiill likely brak a contact on the switch eventually. the factory does say they work in any tool however.

Between us my son and I have 10 18 volt batteries for our Makita power tools which we use in our Carpentry work of these 10 batteries 6 have failed. I have to say the reliabillity of the Ni-cad equipment...

Join the battery collectors club. I have 25 batteries, 12 guns, I quit buying the batteries, I found it cheaper to buy the gun with new batteries and charger once a year. Cause they don't even last that long. I have tried different brands too all the same. Got batteries?? Sure do.

WHERE CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT CHARGER FOR A GREATNECK DRILL?

I have to be the bearer of bad news. These are mass produced to give you the lowest price possible. They are made in Keorea/Taiwan and unfortunately do not make replacement parts. These are sold to any company that pays enough to put their name on it. Shop force makes the same drill and several other brands. So when something goes bad you have to replace the entire drill (only comes in the combo pk). You can't buy seperate pieces. Try shop force or Master craft. They're similar to what you have. Found one on Ebay. IF you keep looking you can probably find a seller with just the charger. Good luck

18 volt batteries

Yes you can, as long as the batteries are the same style and fit the older Ryobi tools. The Ah rating is a capacity rating. The higher the Ah, the longer the battery will last so the 1.7Ah will just last a bit longer than the 1.5Ah batteries, but yes you can use them on older 18v Ryobi tools. I do it all the time.

Can a bad ryobi 18 drill ruin a new 18volt ryobi battery

If the drill has a short in it, then yes, it could short the battery out. Probably in the trigger switch.

Voltage adapter

NO, it is very under rated and powered. You need an 18 volt and not a 12 VOLT. They should not be that hard to find in an electronics store. Also the amp rating is also important. Make sure you are matching both amps and volts AC or DC to the the label on the woofer or you could end up blowing the out.
