As your TV is three years old, I would suggest you contact your LG dealer to arrange an engineer to call to do a software upgrade on the it. The current software will be out of date & if you are connected via the HDMI connector then this can give audio/video problems.

The problem can be blown up components in the back lights inverter board or in the 24VDC power supply section. You need to open up the back look to see if you can locate blown components. There should be 24vdc on one of the power supply output connectors pins.

try to check the aspect ratio and input source to make sure they are correct. for the aspect ratio, make sure it is set either at 16:9 ratio or try the zoom options. if it is set at zoom, you can move the screen left to right or up or down through the zoom settings. make sure you are also using the correct cable. hope this helps

SOURCE: Hi, My LG37LG3000 Has no
hi this is how are you going to isolate or trouble shoot if where the main cause of voltage drop.unplug the unit then disconnect first the connector going to the inverter board as well as going to audio board. 24v which supply the inverter board and drive by 3.3v coming from processor and then 16v for audio. now after you disconnect all the connectors try to plug again the tv unit and turn on check the 24v line and 16v if no drop voltage. if you trace all the voltages present no drop possible your back light has a problem or inverter board has shorted part like transistor which can affect other voltage to drop.just make sure all the regulator for 24v and 16v you have been already check and good. good luck i hope this will help you thanks for consulting fixya.
