No water coming out of the dispenser

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Dispenser Does Not Operate
  • 1 Ensure that the water supply line is installed according to the manufacturer's directions. Turn the water supply shutoff valve counter-clockwise to fully open it.
  • 2 Replace the water filter or remove the filter and install the plug. A clogged filter will prevent the water dispenser from functioning properly.
  • 3 Place a large container under the water dispenser. Press and hold the dispenser lever for at least two minutes to remove air in the water system.
Does Not Dispense Water
  • 1 Inspect the supply line and shutoff valve for clogs. Call a plumber to remove clogs in the line or shutoff valve.
  • 2 Replace the water filter cartridge or remove the filter and install the plug.
  • 3 Ensure that the filter cartridge is installed properly. Remove it and reinstall the filter cartridge. The cartridge will lock into place when installed correctly.

Replaced DA29-00003B water filter in Samsung Refrigerator (RS2530BBP), with DA29-00003G filter. Water comes out extremely slowly....any suggestions? Tried holding ice type button for 3 seconds and...

Recheck you steps and see the warnings:

1) Turn on the main water supply & shut-off valve of the water
supply line.

2) Run water through the dispenser until the water runs clear
(6~7 minutes). This will clean the water supply system and
clear air from the lines.

3) Additional flushing may be required in some households.

4) Open the refrigerator door and check if water leaks around
the water filter.

Remove any residual matter inside the water supply line after installing filter.

NOTE :A newly-installed water filter cartridge may cause water to briefly
spurt from the dispenser.

Is there a filter on the back of the refrigerator that the water line hooks to? I can't remember if all of them have one or not. It sounds like either your water line is clogged or the valve feeding the line might have been turned way down. I would turn the valve off, disconnect the hose from the refrigerator and put the end in a large bowl or bottle and have someone turn the water on to see if you have good flow through the line. Best of Luck

Water problems

Hi. the first action is to check the water filter(If Equipped). Once a water filter reaches its filtering limit, it will stop the free flow of water immediately. This will require you to replace the filter asap, if needed. Once the filter is replaced, the water will flow freely once more. I would also advise to check the integrity of the lines. If the lines are frozen, this will cause a no-flow situation , as well. check to make sure that the lines are not frozen.

Ok, if the lines and filter are not the issue, kindly, proceed to the inspecting of the water inlet valve assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink, or behind the unit). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush, or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.../

Water will not flow out of dispenser

This is common when the water filter needs to be replaced. GE recommends:
Water filter clogged. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and install plug. Air may be trapped in the line: Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes.
Dispenser is LOCKED. Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds.

The water line may be turned off or disconnected.

I have a 2004 whirpool side by side refrigerator and i was wondering if ther is a way to increase the water volume at the water despencer?

The dispenser has a designed specification flow from the manufacturer. There are filters installed inside or outside of the unit. If the water flow appears to have decreased over the years, it may be 1 or all the filters that may nedd to be replaced. Check your user's manual to see what filters are installed as a servicable component, and replace them. An installer may have also placed an in-line filter on your water supply, so look for this also. The water supply line is only a 1/4 inch line, so anything larger than that in the line may be construed as a filter. All filters should be replace every 6 months at the least, unless their specifications say otherwise.
