Question about KDS Avitron 195TF Monitor

Open Question

Monitor DLL Recently, when I turn on my computer, it shows a box that says "Could not load the active Monitor DLL!" I click O.K. on the bottom - twice - and then everything seems to be fine. Until yesterday anyway - I was typing a list of stuff in "Word" and all of a sudden a box popped up that said, "My FTP.exe - Bad Image" and below that "The application or DLL C:\Windows\System 32\msi.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. I clicked the X in the corner to get rid of that and there was another box behind it that said, "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled." and below that "Process id = 0x8d4 (2260) thread id = 0x140c (5132) Click O.K. to terminate the application. Click Cancel to debug the application. I think I clicked O.K. Anyway now when the desktop comes up it's on a plain blue background. I don't have an installation diskette!. What I have are 2 DVD's I made when I got the computer called Recovery disks. What do I do now? And please keep in mind that I am almost totally computer illiterate.

The desktop comes up but it is on a blue screen - whereas it used to look like mailboxes or tiles that were kind of orange & brown.

    HI,

I have exactly the same problem.

I have also downloaded Regcure which claims to fix this DLL problem, however, it doesn't.

I don't know why this message suddenly appeared and i'm not clear as to what it is! Spyware? a mishap?

i'm emailing regcure technical support for help as well.

Hope this can be sorted out soon...

SOURCE: My monitor worked great for the period of 5 years

Bad caps can look normal but it they can have high ESR, but you should take some voltage readings first, it should have 5vdc and 12~16vdc when the monitor is plugged in but not turn on.
Post pictures of the caps also, many people told me the caps look OK until I see the pictures and they turn out to be bad. You need cap meter taht can read capacitance and ESR.

Does the Hp w1907 have a built in monitor microphone? If so, how do I activate it for an online meeting?

I'm sorry but it does not. I also wanted to find this out a long time ago. If you use skype or some other type of chatting. It will only output what is happening on the computer like watching a video or anything else. The only possible way for you to make a cheap and inexpensive mic is using the headphones that you have, and put them in the microphone slot in you PC and or Laptop.

No 1440X900 Resolution Option in Display Settings

Windoze is not detecting the monitor correctly. Right click the desktop as you had before to get to the display settings. Click the "advanced" button at the lower right, on the next window, click the "Monitor" tab, and remove the check from the box from "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". That should add to the settings the 1400 X 900 resolution you are looking for.

Monitor works during boot-up but not in Windows

Did you install the ATI catalyst software?  You will have to check a box that says active monitor on your graphics console for the appropriate monitors.

MONITOR WONT DISPLAY

Hello,
Yes. Disconnect your monitor from the computer and turn it back on. If it self test and then displays a "No Signal Present" message your monitor is probably okay. I underscore 'probably' as it may fail when under a startup load wherein the display adapter is receiving a heavy load from the motherboard as the display is the first device to be loaded by the bios. Still, keep this in mind, the OS will still boot without the monitor attached and there are no error beep codes for monitor failure or unattached.

If you have heard the normal activity from your computer as it boots up while you experienced this situation with your monitor the computer is okay. If you havent' heard the normal activity and have heard some beeps, usually one long four short, your display adapter is loose in its slot or has failed. But, normally you would receive a "No Signal Present" message on screen... but not always. See, there are many variables at work here.

The final word is that your monitor has failed or will completely fail soon. Since it is a Dell and you may still be under warranty persue a replacement (refurbished most likely) from Dell. Be patient as Dell will want to take you through a monotonous troubleshooting routine to assure themselves you aren't mistaken and the problem is real. So, don't sweat it out, just wait them out. Usually with monitor replacements you get a better model than you had.

I'll be glad to assist you further if you want, just click on my user name and click on the Ask Me icon or leave a comment in this thread.

If you find this solution has given you a course to pursue that will result in your satisfaction please rate this response as fixed.

Regards,
Worldvet

Not all colors and images show on monitor

Sounds like the speed optimizer either from AOL or in your browser settings that is not allowing your "Pictures" to be downloaded and seen. Try turning off the speed optimizer in aol or reinstalling the drivers for the Video Adapter. To do that right click my computer/left click Properties/ left click hardware/ left click device manager/ left click the small plus box in the display adapter/ highlight the display adapter and click update driver in the upper icon box. When the option comes up use the bottom option select a driver myself, click the bottom option again and select it from a list, then install the one that comes up in the white box. that will reset the video driver to the default settings. Hope this helps. Chuck housecall101@aol.com

15inches monitor troubleshooting

Hi Rachel,
The old monitor was set to a resoloution that is higher then you current monitor can handle. This is normally the case when changing from a CRT to an LCD

Try this:
Unplug the video cable from the back of your computer.
Start the computer and wait for about 2 minutes.
Press the power button on the front of the computer just once. This will **** it back down safely again.
Plug the video cable back in, then restart the computer with the monitor turned on.

If this dosn't work then try this:
  1. Turn the computer on (have the monitor already powered up)
  2. When the computers bios/splash page goes away begin to press F8
  3. You should get a Windows Startup options page.
  4. If you see the WIndows Logo you normally see when it loads, just hit the reset button and try again.
  5. In the Windows Startup page, select Safe Mode and press enter twice
  6. Windows will now load.
  7. On the desktop right click anywhere there is nothing.
  8. Select Display Properties, a new window will open
  9. Select the last tab at the top of the window (properties)
  10. You will see a slider on the left side, move it to 800x600, select apply, then close the box.
  11. Restart Windows.
If that fails, then please post back and we can try something else.
