Question about Westinghouse SK-26H240S Television
Screen will freeze randomly, have had it for about five years, issues started in the past month. usually when it freezes a simple turn off then turn on works, however when the screen randomly turns black it won't come back for minutes, this most recent time about 2 hours. all of the issues stoped around saturday but now it wont come back.
Also damaged capacitors can cause a slow dieing effect to the display, from what I have seen during my research efforts to find solution for repairs to computers people have bought to me. I have only seen "dead" display lcd monitors that have repaired ok by replacing the $1 capacitors.

If the power light stays on green, I would look tward a backlight issue. If you can see any image at all then the backlight controler or the backlights are bad. If there is nothing then if could be a power supply overheating or an inverter failure. More than likely as the unit heats up a failed solder connection is loosing contact causing the screen to go black.
