i have a sound card but no device is found

  • 1r1sh May 11, 2010

Also, try going to start-control panel-sound and audio devices and see if there is anything there for a sound card. Also can go to start-control panel- system-hardware-device manager-sound,video and see if there is anything there, you may have info on it there, look for any yellow, red ? marks or ! marks, more info would be helpful.

Is it a Dell, Compaq, HP? model number also.

The audio device is provided on the mother board CD unless you have a stand alone Sound card. Does the sound hook to the main obard or to a separate place on the back of the computer? IF seperate please give us the make and model of the sound card.If part of the
main(mother)board, then give us the make and model of the computer.

First make sure audio driver is installed you can check it in device manager.
For that right click on my computer icon then click on property then hardware->device manager.
Then you can see all driver list.
Go to startmenu->control panel Then audio proeprty then make sure sound is not muted.
Also make sure sure speaker is connected proeprly to desktop play song in media player then check also check it is not mute.
If still same issue then uninstall audio driver then reinstall.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.
Select audio driver then right click on it then uninstall that audio driver.

It was uninstalled accidentally

Just go to device manager and right click and click scan for recent hardware changes. It should find your sound card and then ask to search for drivers. You may need to visit the sound cards manufacturer website to download the latest drivers to get it to work properly.

Audio Drivers

that shows that the driver of your multi media have been uninstalled accidentally. you may reinstall the driver using your motherboard cd. you can check the status if this has no driver or not by going to the control panel, double click system, click hardware then click the device manager. if you notice a yellow question mark that means there is no driver installed. so install by using your motherboard cd

The Audio of my Asus notebook laptop was uninstalled. What should I do? My laptop now has no audio.

The audio driver should be on the install disc and if not go to the asus site and download it and reinstall it.Toy may also want to look in your recycle bin if you have not emptied it .

In deleting programs and files from my PC to free up space on my hard drive, I somehow accidentally deleted my sound device. My PC has no sound. Help!

You will need to uninstall the sound device first in the add remove programs console under device settings then rebooting may fix it - if not reinstall drivers and the software that go to the device. You may need to visit the online site to download the drivers. Unless you have a drivers CD that came with the PC -- that will work best.
