Clear glass kettle are attractive, easy to pour from, and refill because of its large top opening. You will find many good functions on the advanced clear glass kettles like Breville and Cusinart. Cleaning the scale deposits from the inside is easy and much more.

I've seen mixed results across the internet on this one. From personal experience, for some reason, my glass teapot left some sort of stain on my ceramic stovetop. It also took longer to heat. I then went out and bought a simple metal one and have been pretty satisfied. If cosmetics are a concern, it's not too difficult a step to pour the water into your teapot after the fact, right?

No you should not use a glass kettle or glass type pots on a ceran top stove. Always use metal flat bottom kettle and pots. When buying a metal kettle make sure that there is no gap between the bottom of the kettle and the surface of the ceran top. Some metal kettles have an indentation on the bottom. This does not work well on the ceran top.
Hope this helps.
