I used the restore dis for my emachine . all that comes up is r for recovery f11 start recovery and NTLDR is compressed then ctrl/alt dele.. cant get windows to boot up the cd did not do a findaly recovery...

There should be another Disk that contains the opperating system. Some manufactures put it on your HD and that could be your problem. They expect you to burn off the system disk. You have a product code sticker... so finding someone with an opperating disk that you could use. It would have to be the MS version not there restore or install disks. If you have 1 gig of Ram consider Win7. Works great on older machines... finds all of the drivers and it istalls fast. Printer Drivers are the only bug... make sure your is supported.
