SOURCE: I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 and need to replace

Remove the screen bezel Remove the broken LCD panel Install the new LCD panel Test the new LCD panel and reinstall the bezel it's a good idea to test the new panel. Reconnect the battery and power cable and turn the machine on. If the display works, you can reattach the bezel and any external screws and rubber cushions. The repair is now complete.

My TV gets power and sound. The picture is on for a bit and then goes blank, then comes back on, then goes blank. What parts do I need to order to fix it?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

How do you rlace the circuit board on a fridgidaire side by side refridgerator

Thank you for your post, friend!

From my understanding you need to replace the circuit board on your Frigidaire side by side refrigerator. In order to replace the panel you would need to disassemble the front dispenser to access the needed wire for replacement of the panel. This is not a simple DIY job and I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional technician. They will have the appropriate tools needed for proper disassembly of your refrigerator. Best of luck! -Matt

Tv does not turn on

I would need the model number of the set to assist. But I would suspect bad capacitors on the Power supply first.

My lg lcd 42 tv wont switch on for ages have to keep pressing on/off button also you have to switch it on/off lots off times so sound will work

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your technical support needs.
Most often, this symptom is a result of a failing POWER SUPPLY in your TV, although other causes are certainly possible.

One quick way to check this is to remove the rear access panel on the TV and visually inspect the power supply circuit board for any scorched / bulging / leaking electrolytic capacitors. If you see any evidence of this, then replace the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

Here are a few links to images which show what faulty capacitors often look like:

You can usually find replacement power supply circuit boards online by searching for your TV's model number.

Here are some links to replacement POWER SUPPLY BOARDS for your model of TV currently available on Ebay for prices ranging between $76 and $126 US plus shipping:

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and items at the website indicated.

The repair / replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge and some basic electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will need to unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed if necessary, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on the circuit board currently fitted in your TV and confirm that it EXACTLY matches the ones provided in the online listings. There are often different parts used even within the same model number, so be sure the part numbers fully match. Also make sure that any part you order is labelled "TESTED WORKING" in the condition description. Any part with a condition description of "AS IS" is probably faulty itself as well.

Then just unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the power supply circuit board. Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the power supply circuit board. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the circuit board or the contacts on the underside of the board which can still retain a nasty charge even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new circuit board and connect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test.

If you are uncomfortable at all carrying out this level of repair yourself, then you will likely need to contact a local shop to arrange for service. Depending on the shop and exactly what they find during their troubleshooting, the bill is likely to be at least $200 if you do need a technician to carry out those repairs for you.

Obviously if your TV set is new enough to still be under warranty, then definitely do not open it up or attempt to service it yourself, which will certainly void the warranty. In that case just contact your dealer at the place of purchase and arrange for a refund / exchange / or no cost warranty repair.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

If your warranty is still valid, then you should definitely contact your dealer / place of purchase and arrange for a refund, exchange, or no cost repair service. If the already warranty is expired, then you have other options available as well.

One fairly easy way to troubleshoot this symptom yourself is to first unplug the set, and then remove the rear access panel on the TV to check the power supply circuit board located inside. Look for any scorched / bulging / leaking electrolytic capacitors on that circuit board. If you see any evidence of this, then you might want to consider replacing the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

We have a hitachi l32h01au tv and the inverter is broken in it. is it difficult to replace and how much can i get an inverter for?

Here is a link to a full list of the circuit boards available for your set from SHOPJIMMY.COM:

http://www.shopjimmy.com/hitachi-l32h01u

And here is a direct link to an INVERTER BOARD currently available there for about $39 US:

http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-ssi320wa16-backlight-inverter.htm

You may also find replacement circuit boards on Ebay if you search for your TV's model number or for the exact part number printed on the inverter board itself. Prices may vary slightly on Ebay, but SHOPJIMMY is a very reliable sources of spare parts with consistently fair market prices.

The board replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you are handy with a screwdriver, have some basic electrical safety knowledge, and a bit of electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will first need to unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside. This will require removing 12 or more philips head screws from the rear panel plastic enclosure.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your circuit boards and confirm that they exactly match the ones provided in the replacement board listing. If you order the part from Ebay, also make sure that any part you are considering is labelled "TESTED WORKING" in the condition description. Any part with a condition description of "AS IS" is probably faulty.

Then unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the inverter boards Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the board. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the power supply circuit board while you are in there. They can retain a nasty charge even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new circuit board and reconnect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test.
Good luck.

I have a sharp aquos 37 lcd and one day I turn it on and hear a pop sound and it went dead no power

Normally this is indicative of a faulty power supply circuit inside your TV.

The easiest way to test this is to remove the rear access panel on the TV and replace the power supply circuit board with a new one.

You can find a replacement circuit board on Ebay by searching for your TV's model number.

Here is a link to one currently available for about $100 plus shipping:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DPS-178APA-Power-Board-Power-Supply-Sharp-LC-37D43U-/260814504762?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item3cb9c1833a

One other thing you can check is to see if there is a fuse fitted on your set.

Some models will have a fuse holder compartment accessible from the rear of the set right where the power cord enters the enclosure. If your set does not have one of these, then the fuse may be located directly on the power supply circuit board itself.

Try testing that fuse for continuity with a voltmeter (with the set unplugged of course). If that fuse has failed, then it will test OPEN. If you are lucky, you may then just need to buy an exact replacement fuse and then install / solder that into place to correct the problem

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.
