If you dont have a router, you can either have the xbox or the pc conneted to the internet, not both. you have to have an eithernet cord or a usb 2.0 high speed usb chord that goes directly from the xbox to the modem. you cannot go from the modem to the computer then to the xbox.

First i want to know how is your xbox 360 connected to the internet? For example ( Modem Connection?, Router Connection?, Or Wireless Connection?

Here are some steps that you need to try:

1. Turn off your cosole wait for 20 seconds and then turn it back on, then test your xbox live connection

2. Go to your network settings

3. Select restore to factory defaults and test your xbox live connection

Xbox live ip address test fails

If you are using Windows XP or below, press START, click RUN and type "cmd". If you are using Windows Vista, press START, click the search bar and type "cmd". The command prompt should appear.
Type: ipconfig /all
Search the list for your network adaptor and make a note of the MAC address.
Turn on your Xbox 360 and go to network settings. Select manual settings and enter the MAC address under the Alternative MAC address option. Retest the connection. If your computer is connected to the internet, your Xbox 360 will be too,

My adapter is Wired but my IP address Fails :(

I am not sure how to fix it through multi-wired interned but the best way to get connected to the Xbox Live is to give it a direct access to the internet.

Try to look into your manual you got with your Xbox and find how to connect it through other means than direct access.

In the meantime, before you find a way - your best bet is to just take your internet cable that is connected directly to the modem and connect it to the Xbox.

Ip address failed

I think you need to ring your internet provider and they will enable xbox live from their side. Its fairly simple and they will know what your talking about.

HiWhen you attempt to access Microsoft?s Xbox Live

If you have a home network (router) try resetting it. Make sure you reset your console at the same time. You can try resetting your modem. Once you reset either give it 2 mins. to come up. Hope this works, if not contact you ISP (internet service provider).

IP Address keeps failing on my Xbox 360

You shouldnt have an amp, when you do this. Also, you arent supposed to plug the modem directly into the console. It is supposed to be plugged into a router, which is pluged into a computer. That was, you can configure it.

Ip address failed

If you are behind a router.. try hooking it up directly to your cable modem or DSL modem. If that fixes the problem then you need to open ports on the router to allow the connect to get routed to your xbox.
