Question about IOLO System Shield AntiVirus AntiSpyware

Open Question

Class not registered message

I have system mechanic and am currently having many problems which seem to relate to iolo. I am trying to reload system mechanic but i get a "class not registered" message from iolo downloader.. I have tried to delete iolo altogether but it appears the firewall is still running and I can not get it shut off. The iolo folder shows empty. The search function does not work now. Internet explorer does not work. Most programs I have to right click and then click open to get them to start as apposed to double clicking. New downloads that do succeed do not end up in the folder it was meant for and I can not find them. I can get anywhere without some of these functions.

Hi ,
1st- you need to go into the control panel , find Programs and Fetures , click on that and look to see if the software is deleted from the computer , if you have'nt done that then yes your going to run into the same problem everytime you try to reload it , once you sure the program is removed this should give you a clean install ,,,,,,,,So please let me know if you have already done this , then we can move to the next step...................Goodluck Roy

These problem usually occur when you are using a trial versions that have expired or a "half-cracked" version of a software. In order to reinstall the program you have to do some Registry editing. If you are a "novice" don't try to edit the registry, any errors you may make might render your system unbootable. (Do at your own risk)

Alternatively you can use a commercial uninstaller like 'final installer' or 'perfect uninstaller', etc...an many more in the market. Reinstall the program and use the uninstallers to remove the program and its remnats from the registry.

Program won't start. Get message "the component IoloSystemService" is required for system mechanic to operate properly and could not be found. System Mech 9.5.6 is installed and looks good. Running XP,...

The "the component IoloSystemService" Error message shows up due improper installation of the System Mechanic Pro. Some of the Iolo dependencies failed to get activated and that is the problem.

Now the only solution to fix it is to follow a thorough uninstallation of the System Mechanic Pro.

For WinXP, you can uninstall it from the "Add or Remove Programs".

Next, once its unistalled do not RESTART the PC.

Now, go to the Registry (press "windows" + R to open the run command and type "regedit").

OR

Click the Windows start button and select RUN. Type REGEDIT on the openfield.

On the left-hand side, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER by clicking the + symbol next to the entry.
Expand Software.
Expand the iolo folder.
Navigate to the System Mechanic Professional folder.
Right-click on the System Mechanic Professional folder and select Delete.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
On the left-hand side, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE by clicking the + symbol next to the entry.
Expand Software.
Expand the iolo folder.
Navigate to the System Mechanic Professional folder.
Right-click on the System Mechanic Professional folder and select Delete.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Close the Registry Editor.
Click Start>My Computer and then navigate to your Local Disk (usually the C: drive) then Program Files\iolo\System Mechanic Professional.
Right-click on the System Mechanic Professional folder and select Delete.
Click Yes to confirm.

Reinstall the System Mechanic Pro

System Mechanic causes Registry problems

Hi,

I use nCleaner and have had absolutely no problems for over a year now. I find System Mechanic has too large a 'footprint' and, like you said, is pretty incomprehensible to use out of the box.
The only thing that took me unaware with nCleaner was that it cleaned out My Received Files by default, so all the photos I had been mailed through Messenger were deleted, so make sure you copy them into another folder first :)
I have never had any software problems after using it though, and I install and uninstall programs pretty regularly!
So it comes highly recommended. It's a bit like CCleaner (if you have heard of that) but with more functions like Registry Clean.
I would reinstall XP first though as SM seems to have messed up, and you want a clean start. Also remember to reinstall all the XP drivers for your motherboard too.

Hope this helps

I need to rredownload my system mechanic 7, can you help?

Hi!

I understand that you had System Mechanic 7 installed on your computer, but it has since been uninstalled or deleted, correct? Did you have the standard version or the professional version?

Either way, the site to re-download your System Mechanic software is located here:

http://www.iolo.com/customercare/kbarticle.aspx?id=KBA-01366

This site allows you to download any of their programs free of charge. However, you will still need your licensing information to reactivate the software. If you don't know your licensing information and need to find out what it is, go to this website and enter your email:

http://www.iolo.com/customercare/licensinginfo.aspx

If you did not register your email with Iolo or if your computer came with System Mechanic preinstalled, you will need to provide Iolo with some proof of purchase in order to obtain licensing information for your software.

Hope I helped!
