Welcome to FixYa. This occurs when the ink pad counter times out and is supposed to be a dealer service to drain the waste reservoir and replace the pad. The only thing that you can do is try to reset the printer. Please do the following:
Turn off the printer by pressing the power button. Check to make sure that the print head is in the default position, to the far right of the device and locked in place.
Hold down the paper feed button. Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.
Release the paper feed button as the paper feed light starts to flash. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for 15 seconds.
Wait for the printer to complete its test run. Turn off the printer and then turn it back on once more.
Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.
If paper is stuck inside, open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces. Then close the printer cover.
If paper remains near the sheet feeder, press the paper feed roller lever inside the paper feeder to release the jammed paper, then carefully pull it out.
Load the paper correctly.
Press the stop button to resume printing.
If the printer continues to jam or misfeed paper, and you are certain that there are no foreign objects lodged down inside the paper feed area, your printer may require service. Please call Epson technical support for further assistance.
Paper feeder problem. You must open case and paper feeder.Check for all screw. spring, rubber and lubrication. If you never done, find diagram at printersiam.com. is printer paper jam berfore? and clearing jam by pulling paper form back?
The red middle light is the paper feed indicator. If it is on, it means the paper feed is (or the computer thinks it is) jammed. Remove all paper from the hopper and make sure all bits of paper are removed from the feed mechanism. Press the paper feed button (the middle one) a few times during this process to try to feed through any jammed pieces. If this doesn't work, you have an internal jam or broken feed system, or your main board has gone haywire.
Any further investigation requires you to remove the printer top cover, which you may or may not feel like tackling. If you don't, take your printer to a technician, or sell it on E-Bay for what you can get. If you do, post a new comment to this effect and I will provide a tutorial on removing the top cover. It's not difficult if you know how.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A MONTH AGO. I LOOKED WHERE THE PAPER LOADS AND THERE WAS A PAPER CLIP JAMMED IN THERE. I HAD A HECK OF A TIME GETTING TO IT, BUT I DID. AND IT WORKS FINE. MAYBE SOMETHING IS THERE.
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock
(Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button,
applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through
the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear
the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time. Worth a
try. I have fixed a number of printers this way saving costly
1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover. 2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.) 3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. 4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring. 5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.
If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6. If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service. 6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. 7. Turn the printer off. 8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. 9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
