Question about Acer Aspire One AOD255-1549 10.1-Inch Netbook - Diamond Black (884483114931)

Open Question

Camera not found AOD255 I reset my computer to factry settings, after which i noticed that i no longer had the program or driver for the Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam. I downloaded what i thought was a driver, but it is only showing up as the program. When i open it to use the web cam it pops up as "camera not found". I have tried t find the driver in the control panel and it is not there. I do not have a camera located in my devices either, so i am unable to unistall it to reinstall. I have gone under the eRecovery as well and dont see the driver in there either.

Go to Acer's website and download the webcam driver.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers. It might be under Input Devices or Imaging Devices.
You have to open the webcam software to activate or startthe webcam. There is no button to push or switch to turn on. Thewebcam software is somewhere in the program list. Click Start/Programs thensearch for any reference to webcam or camera. Sometimes the webcam mightbe inside one of the manufacturers folders in the program list so search thefolders for it. Some manufacturers have something like EntertainmentExperience that will open and show all the entertainment devices such as thedvd drive, webcam, media player, etc. if you see it click it to launch itthen click on the webcam or camera icon.

Try using ManyCamYoucan always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and inthe search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on theleft and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type"Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit thesearch mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one thatsays ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sureyou remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. Youonly want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where yourwebcam software is.

Hello i've uninstalled my acer crystal eye cam for my apsire 1410 11.6" windows 7, 64 bit can u send me the software to install please? regards

I got this info from the Acer website: Hopefully you have the eRecovery program...

How do I restore drivers and applications using eRecovery?
Drivers for Acer products may be found on the Acer product support. Search for the product and download the drivers.
Alternatively, the factory installed drivers and applications can be re-installed by using Acer eRecovery by following these steps:

  1. Click Start, and then All Programs
  2. Click Acer, and then Acer eRecovery Management
  3. You may be prompted to enter or create a password. This password will be required to use eRecovery in the future.
  4. In the next window on the left toolbar, select Restore.
  5. Choose Reinstall Drivers or Applications
  6. Choose Contents
  7. Choose the driver or application you wish to install
  8. On the right, click the Install link and follow the prompts.
  9. The computer may restart when installation is complete. If it does not restart, manually shutdown and restart the computer.
Note: For older Acer products, the Acer eRecovery Management program may not be available.
If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, they may be purchased from our Acer Recovery Media Order Form.

I hope this helps.

Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam

Go into the device manager and make sure the camera is still listed in there and that there is no X or ? for it. a ? means the drivers are installed for it. An X means its disabled and all you have to do is right click on it and enable it.

If you still can't get your wecam to work, I noticed on Acer supports website for your model there is two models of the webcam Bison and Suyin. My suggestion to you is to go here courtesy of Acer Support to and try both programs (bison and Suyin) if one doesn't work then the other one You'll have to pull up your laptop model but its easy to do.

Try to locate the camera driver and do a update also might be a fix download for the Crystal Eye Cam through Acer Or another download site. Another idea would be to get a driver Program which checks all your drivers on the main items like keyboard, web cam , mouse, monitor, graphics the one i use is DriverDetective works great!

This is a common problem for Acer models using Crystal Eye. Delete the web cam from Add or remove programs. Delete all pictures from My Documents. Reinstall Bison Web cam driver. Will work!!!
