It wont turn on when charging the red light is on for abut 4hours and then turns green i unplug it and it wont turn on ive holding down the volume + and power button and still nothing

tablets are designed to be throwaway.
you can buy new batteries off ebay but replacing the battery will require cutting and soldering as the batteries in these tablets are soldered directly to the board and are stuck in place with glue and electrical insulating glass tape. Not a big job but fiddly and anyone with a soldering iron skill and basic leccie-tronics can do it.
it may be the battery - when you press the power button does the screen flicker or does the green power light come on.

pressing the power button whilst pressing the up or down volume button should take you into recovery mode - do this whilst the power block is plugged in - if the tablet shows signs of life with the power block plugged in you can be sure its the battery..

when tablets are vroken its usually by being dropped and this can cause the screen connector to come loose so you get no display but power lights will still be on.

Kindle fire has red battery showing. I have charged it but it wont work

It may be the power cord but it is possible that your Kindle Fire's battery has died. If you noticed the battery life diminishing before it started flashing a red battery symbol this may be the case. Here is a site that has replacement batteries for the Kindle Fire:

Wont power on

Most likely scenario is either the power supply or motherboard died. Check to see if the led near the main psu plug to the motherboard is green. If it is red or not on then more than likely the psu died. If the light to the mb is green then check your RAM and video card as those components going bad or coming unseated would also prevent the system from booting. Once you find the defective part replace with a new one and you should be back up ans running. Good luck & I hope this helps.
