Unless you want to deal with the little screws to take it apart, you may take it to an authorized singer service dealer. Look in your local yellow pages under sewing machines.

SOURCE: the needle on my sewing machine will not move up

You are jammed up with thread or material. Clean it out, rethread, wind a new bobbin. Oil your machine and put in a new needle. When you sew, hold the thread ends when you first start out sewing for about 4-5 stitches. Read your manual, watch your dvd on instructions

Try clearing out all of your lint, pieces of thread and debris from the bobbin area. If that doesn't work, then you may need to have your machine cleaned. I had the same problem with my machine, and took it to my repair guy. He told me that the mechanism of the machine was packed tight with lint and "stuff" that had worked in. After a thorough cleaning, the machine ran like new.
You may also want to try to completely unthread the machine and rethread it (both top and bobbin). Sometimes that works.

You can download an instruction manual for Singer machines from here http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html, just type in the model number and click "search".

This sounds more like top thread is not in tension though so have you checked tension is working okay?

However, to adjust timing you will need a service manual or general instructions for a horizontal hook sewing machine. You may find a video that helps with this on You-tube, I just leave it to the experts.

Your machine sounds like it needs retiming unless you are using a needle bigger than a size 16, I can attach instructions if you want to do it yourself.

How do I just the tension on my Singer 621B

There is a nob for tension. Put scrap material under foot to sew. Dial tension run a couple of stitches that would be tight ,not good turn to right that loosens stitch. Keep trying till problem solved. Lots of patients .

Singer 2263 needle hitting something in bobbin area (loud thunk) and needle moves

try taking the bobbin out and putting it back in the bobbin
case if it's a top loading bobbin
if it's a side or front loading bobbin make sure the bobbin case is
inserted correctly
if the bobbin and bobbin case are inserted correctly then
it sounds like the sewing machine could have a timing
problem and needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop

Have a singer 3221/3232 cannot disengage handwheel to fill bobbin what am I doing wrong

Are you sure you have to pull or push? It looks to me like you just slide the bobbin winder spindle to the right to engage.

Here's a manual for your machine... I'm sure more specific info is in there.

Singer sewing machine 8280 handwheel jammed while stitching. It will go backwards, but not forward, happened while sewing, thread jammed up. cleaned out but still won't advance.

Turn the hand wheel HARD in the direction it was traveling. Then remove the thread and the needle and run it full speed for 20 seconds to put it back in time.

My machine started making noise and the handwheel became hard to turn. The hand wheel stopped turing completely. can I fix this myself or does it have to be repaired professionally?

Take the bobbin case out completely to begin witgh and check for any jammed thread, see if you can turn the balance wheel once the bobbin case is out, if you have a front load bobbin take the raceway out as well, if it still does not move you have a problem which will need shop attention
