Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
Kenmore Elite top load washer. During the wash cycle when the aggitator is turning, it is making a louder noise than usual and I think that it is stripping out. When I turn the aggitator when the machine is not on, it turns then strips. How hard is this to fix?
It's easy, your agitator dogs are bad. They are little teeth that sit inside the agitator. If you remove the top of the agitator you will see 4 small gizmos that sit inside there. They have teeth that catch the teeth on the agitator and stop it when it agitates. The teeth on the agitator dogs are just worn out. They cost around 7 dollars from your local appliance repair shop and are easy to replace. Just pull out the housing for the dogs and replace them. You buy them in a set of four. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and have a great weekend.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello fire_rod - From what you have described it sounds like either the transmission is failing or the trunnion, which secures the tub to the transmission shaft has broken. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
