Does the after market adapters have the same voltage and at least the same amp. rating (can be more) as the original Dell adapter?
If they have less amps then it would explain why they are burning out because they are overloaded.

If the adapters are equivalent or better than the original DELL adapter then there is something wrong with the laptop which is causing it to draw more power (amps) than normal and it needs to be checked out.

My emachine em350 battery is not fully charging. it started by charging to 89% then 86% now its at 65% I bought it 5 months ago. What should I do?

Here's how Dell
recommended a reset. First, power down and remove baterty. Second, unplug
AC Power adapter from computer AND wall. Third-Wait till green light goes
out. In my case, went and got coffee and watch a show. Fourth plug adapter
into wall and computer and power up WITHOUT the baterty installed. After
boot up, insert the baterty. It worked?!!?!

Why my dell inspiron 6400 battery not charging while plug in ,i have bought this one month ago

Every new Dell computer comes with a ONE-YEAR warranty.
Contact Dell, via telephone, and they will trouble-shoot your problem,
and will repair/replace any parts, to fix your problem.

No charge, during the first 12 months of ownership.

Burnt power section of dell D500 laptop board

Unfortunatly that's what you have to do :(

When a motherboard gets fried or burnt especially where the power is comming in, you would need to change out the board. If this is not a new notebook, motherboards for it should be as low as under $200.00. If not, then you would need to make your decision to either repair this notebook or get a new one.

Motherboard,It just went, burnt, for no reason,I sent it

Usually a "fried" motherboard will result from a faulty AC adapter / power supply. If the voltage it provides is too high, kiss the motherboard good bye! Most adapters output voltages around 18-19 volts at around 90 watts. If the adapter malfunctions, the voltages do not have to go much above the range to cause havoc.

If the repair shop did not FIRST check the voltage of the AC adapter before plugging it into a new motherboard, I would seriously consider a new repair shop!

Dell inspiron 1525 will not charge the battery

Hello,
This problem has arised because your motherboard hasn't identified your battery. So, this is motherboard problem.
next time when you chat with the dell representatives, tell them that your motherboard is not recognizing your battery. They would arrange a pickup and would have it repaired in their center.
Good luck,

CHECK IN YOUR BIOS AND MAKE SURE ANY SETTINGS FOR POWER ARE ALL CORRECT ...SO THAT WOULD BE A F2 FUNCTION IF THE ABOVE IS CORRECT ...SEE IF THAT SOLVES THE ISSUE .

AC adapter not recognized

If you don't get any errors when you startup on battery then all you have to do is call Dell. Get work order number and send them the laptop and adapter. They are very fast. I sent a laptop to them last month and I had it back in 3 days! I was surprised.

Dell inspiron 6000 not charging

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, and so does my wife. One day coming back from the airport, the power adapter cord(the end that plugs into the laptop) was hanging out the door and was dragging on the ground. Well the end was unusable and I was out looking for another AC adapter. Dell wanted $80 for a new one, but I found one on ebay for $40. But once I got it, I found that it would power my laptop, but wouldn't charge my battery. I thought, I know the old one works, so I cut the end off the ebay one and wired it onto the original one but ended up with the same result. Called the ebay seller and turns out these AC adapters are dell seconds. They claimed to test them and offered to send me another one and did so. By that time the new one from dell dropped to about $40 so I just bought it too anyways. The new dell one worked and the second one from the ebay seller did the same as the first one he sent me. I found out that the dell laptop wont charge the battery if the supply goes below 19.5V. By me hacking the other end on the original AC adapter, didn't result in the best insulated connection from the other wires. Also, if anyone know anything about AC adapters, is that they have a "Step Down Transformer," and the company that makes them, low balls the windings so that if they are off on the voltage, they are under, and not over, thus not frying the more expensive laptop. My suggestion to you is to just pick up a new AC adapter from dell. Also, the rubber coating on the cord is pretty soft and splits easily.
