HP 2133 is a mini-computer (netbook) that comes with a built-in webcam you can use to take photos, record videos or video chat in messaging programs such as Skype or Yahoo Messenger. The built-in webcam generally fails to work if the driver is corrupt or damaged. Repair the webcam quickly and safely by reinstalling the driver from the HP website.
Follow the instructions below to use your webcam
Click on Start then >Control panel>hardware and sound >device manager>imaging devices>web cam....enable it
Another way is to use a IM application like Yahoo messenger,NetMeeting, etc. They will have video capabilities that will work with your webcam. Please take time to rate me thumbs up
When you go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers, do you see an webcam icon? It probably won't say HP Webcam but more likely "USB Composite Device". If it isn't there, you'll need to install driver software for the webcam to function. If it is there then right click the icon, click on Properties and look at the General and Hardware tabs to make sure you see HP Webcam in there. You may also want to check to see if it states that the "device is working properly".
Check Control Panel>Devices and Printers. if the camera is installed, you should see the Acer Crystal Eye webcam. if you do not see the webcam, You will have to get the driver from either the web or HP.
If you see the webcam, Double click the webcam icon and click hardware>properties to check for proper operation. if everyting is fine, then the application you are using needs to be looked at.
If the webcam is not working properly according to the device status, right click the webcam icon in the Devices and Printers window and follow the instructions.
Let me know if this solves the problem or if we need to investigate further. Thanks.
You will need an external USB DVD rom - recommend W7 premium - plug in the dvd rom power the unit up - hit F9 to select boot device - fit your dvd into the dvd rom then select the dvd rom as the boot device and follow the instructions. W7 has 99.9% of the drivers within the SOE to enable the devices for mini's are very basic
Your webcam should come automatically whenever you launch a video application (Skype, Yahoo, Debut, etc.). You can test your webcam on the free webcam test site to make sure it is working, and then simply use the program of your choice. PhotoBooth is great for the Mac and Debut works great on the PC.
The first thing you need to do is check the Device Manager....If there is a bang... A bang is a Yellow ? mark or ! mark in the device manager next to the webcam driver....If there is no such bang... Please go ahead and uninstall the driver... Shut down and restart the system....Let it install the device software automatically... Check if it is working.... Incase it does not work then go ahead and delete the driver from the device manager and install afresh copy of the driver it will work.....If
In your control panel you can select system properties and then device manager. If the webcam had a yellow ! then you will need to install or update the drivers. Drivers can be found under the support section at the manufactures website.
(easy way to system properties is windows key + break key)
The replacement screen itself can be obtained on eBay for $80-$120. I searched for "hp 2133 screen" in "PC Components" and came up with several results. I have replaced the screen for a friend before on an HP laptop, and she had purchased the replacement screen on eBay. It wasn't exactly "hard" to do, but it was time consuming. The replacement screen was of good quality and arrived in new condition. It is still working too.
