1 Answer

Our healthy upright we bought specifily because we have a golden

This worked fine at our old house. At the new house not so good. About every two feet we end up with gobs of dog hair, which we then need to walk around picking them up. We have tried all the different settings. My husband wants to buy a new vacuum. Do you have a solution?Appreciate any help. Thanks

Self leveling platform will not lower.

Hi There,

This is probably being caused by the two little feet on the bottom of the agitator housing. I have yet to completely understand what the purpose of these two feet are, but what happens is that over time the screws that secure them in place begin to loosen, which allows these two little feet to become lodged between the agitator housing (the part the brush is actually in) and the vacuum bag housing (upright part) preventing the agitator housing from releasing when stepping on the foot pedal.

Here's a picture of these two little feet from the parts schematic. You may either tighten the screws, or just remove these two feet entirely from the vacuum cleaner, Other then helping stabalize the vacuum while in the upright position, these don't really seem to much else.

Here's the picutre of the two feet which are circled in red.

If you inspect these feet and they are not loose, then you may have an issue with the handle release pedal itself. Please just add a comment if this did not fix it, and I will be happy to walk you through step by step on how to fix the handle release.

I really hoped that this helped you fix the machine. If you found my repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback for me. This is greatly appreciated by the Fixya community.

Thanks again,

Chris Jones

Beater bar is not coming on- belt is on, canister is empty. Vacuum runs but no beater bar

Remove the beater bar and clean the debris from the bar and the end bearings. Remove the belt (remember how it is installed) and check it for any damaged areas. Make sure the bar turns freely before the belt is attached to the motor drive. Hope this helps!

Bissell healthy home won't stay on unless i hold the start button

We had the same problem. Open the handle by undoing the screws and then pull one side off. Depress the button a few times and see if it catches. It worked for us and now it is just like it should be again. Good luck!

Is it easy to replace the debris door myself on the vacuum? Mine broke and I want to replace it myself but not sure if its easy or not.

Take a close look at the old debris door and determine whether or not you have the tools necessary to do the job. If you do, remove the old one. The new one will go one in exactly the opposite steps.

Brand new Bissell Healthy Home 5770H Upright will not turn on.

If the brush attachment isn't locked into place than the vaccuum will not work make sure it is attached properly.
