What does LOC error code mean?

I believe that the front panel lock has been enabled. (This keeps children from starting the unit accidentally.) Without the model number of your dryer, I can't be absolutely sure of the key or keys that you need to press and/or hold to toggle the lock off. On some Elite Steam Dryers, including the Kenmore 417.81100000, you need to press and hold the "Add Steam" button for 5 seconds. You'll hear a chime as the feature is disabled. On the Frigidaire Affinity dryers, the Select and Options button need to be pressed together to toggle the lock on and off.

Look on the control panel for a fine print "Child Lock" label or a padlock symbol below a specific key or with a line between two keys. That will indicate the buttons that you need to try. Otherwise check the manual.

If you have attempted to clear the lock and there was no response, the key pad may not be communicating with the brain of the appliance. This is usually a keypad fault and is cured by replacing it. However, it can indicate a wiring problem or a problem with the control unit.

If you don't have any indication of the child lock buttons or they didn't work, please add a comment with the model number. If the dryer is not currently running, you can look in the unit and try to find the model number. (It should be on the inside of the door surround for most dryers.) A few companies put the model number in other spots. If you know the manufacturer that will help me assist you further.

I hope this helps.

How to take front panel off an Electrolux EIED55HIWO dryer?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to know how to remove the front panel of your Electrolux dryer, model# EIED55HIW0. Typically, this is not a do it yourself repair, as there are no step by step instruction manuals. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your particular appliance, and should be able to remove the front panel with ease. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a 1997 Amana dryer model LEA30AW. On a full load it will overheat and shut off. I have cleaned the filter and the vent but don't know how to open it to clean the internal components. Can anyone...

Not sure of your particular model but most dryers you will need to use a wedge, flat blade inserted between the lid and front cover which is normally held together with spring clips. By applying pressure to each corner you should be able to release the front from the top. After cracking open the casing there will be small hex screws located on the inside of the cabinet which holds the front panel to the side panels, normally 5/16" heads. After removing screws the front, or door panel, should be able to be removed by grasping both sides of front panel and pulling up, this should release it from the bottom slots of the base and lift away. Beware of the electrical wiring and switches. Some units also have hex screws in various locations and also you may have a split or two part front assembly which means you'll have to beware of the door springs but are easily removed. just keep track of how they are attached to the frame work, not hard just take notes and this should expose your heat chamber on the left side of interior cabinet. Be 100% sure you have disconnected power from unit. For a thorough cleaning I always remove the drum so as to reach all areas of the interior. If doing this it might be a good time to inspect your drum belt for wear for as this is an excellent time to replace. Just a side note dryer assemblies usually break apart with little resistance so if yours seem to be a little difficult look for a couple of more screws in the door area attaching the door to the bottom panel. Again you will have switches and wiring going to the door assembly.
I'm attaching a link which I use quite often, hope it helps.

Around the drum, through the tensioner on the botton of the cabinet, around the pulley on the motor. Lift the motor into position and reinstall the front panel.

The drum makes a humming noise when it rotates i beieve it may have dirt around it how do i access it to clean it out

Interesting question.

Humming may be from the motor or incidental belt noise. There is a felt bearing on the drum where it rides on the front panel and this felt bearing can get dirty. I'm not convinced it would make a humming sound.

Tell me, what tune is it humming?

Kidding, sorry.

If you want to open your machine, generally speaking, dryer tops are held down with spring clips. To remove, pop the top by prying it up. Be careful you don't damage the finish. Front panels are generally held in place with spring clips and/or screws or tabs. Take appropriate action and remove the front. Be cautions of the door switch wires. The drum will come free and fall to the floor. Do what ever maintenance you feel needs to be done and reassemble. You may want to replace the belt while you are inside. I recommend you take pictures before you take the drum out of the cabinet paying particular attention to how the belt is driven through the tensioner on the floor and around the motor pulley. A cell phone with camera is particularly useful for this purpose.

The Dryer says "Control Locked"

Try pressing an holding the "End of Cycle Signal" button on the front panel in for 3 seconds. This button is used to lock/unlock the control panel to keep small children from manipulating the controls when the dryer is not in use. A designed safety feature. If this does not work for you, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
