Question about Kenmore 95032 / 95034 Electric Kitchen Range
We have own a Kenmore model 95032 since 2001. A few months ago the top of the oven got a big crack in it. Cosmetically not appealing, but the burners still worked, functioned well.
Just this morning as the oven was preheating, the heating/bake element started sparkling.....bunch of smoke poured out of the oven. Looks like the elemenmt is shot, no longer works.
We are trying to determine the approx cost to have the top replaced and the heating element (bake). We can order same oven from Sears and have it delivered tomorrow for $399 plus tax. I have no intention of doing the repairs myself, most likey Sears.....but if the repairs are anywhere close to $200, might as well buy new.
Do you have any advice?
I would say buy a new one if you can get a replacement for $399.00.
You can get an idea of parts costs by going to SearPartsDirect.com and entering your model number. I would think the element would be about $25.00, and the top would probably be another $150.00. Add in labor, and your quickly over $200.
I would do the same thing if I didn't know how to work on them.
