Althopugh the laptop seems to boot up the sreen stays black and one can just see faintly (like a shadow) the pictures that should be their. Is this aknown problem with this modle. It's always been slow in bootong up. My son believes its a graphis card problem! and not worth repairing.
Can you advise?
Check the IDE from hard-disk and the connection with the motherboard. Normally, a pc must show a screen even if the hard disk is not detected. For some notebooks this is not the case. So, if the BIOS does't detect the hard disk the screen stays blak. The bottom of line: it could be a hard disk problem or the bad contact that conects with the hard disk on the motherboard.

press F12 for boot manager before the screen displays bootmgr compressed.. Sounds like your hard drive may have developed a problem. When you press f12 you should get some startup options.insert your OS CD go to DOS window and type in your OS drive (usualy C:\) type in bootrec /FixMbr then type in bootrec /fixboot then type in bootrec /rebuildbcd then type in exit restart your computer
1.AS soon as your PC starts press f12 to see if the boot-up menu pops up. Navigate to reboot from last good configuration. 2. Boot in safe mode with networking by repeatedly tapping f8. Then download a registry helper like cc cleaner from filehippo.com. 3. If neither of the two options work then attempt to push near the hinges gently to see if the screen flickers. You might have a hardware issue.
you need do check:
1) no charging means adapter input problem, first check your adapter DC output voltage is ok
2) check DC jack socket on the motherboard:
--- DC socket any pin disconnected, you need use iron and flux to fix it
--- DC socket damage(broken),you have to change it
3) if DC socket connection normall, the DC/DC circiute near around DC socket some component damage, you need find a technacian to repair.
hope help you to deal it well
If it's only 10 months old it is still within the manufacturers warranty, so do not touch or alter anything to do with the charger or battery, as even though the battery is seeming to be the fault, it is normally the motherboard charging point that is faulty or the motherboard not recognising the battery is connected.
this could be a corrupt usb controller or web cam driver; but before we get too deep when it is booting up press F8 and you will get a menu, one of which will say, start windows with 'last known good configuration', highlight line the press enter for a restart.
If no luck with boot up come back.
