Maytag 2000 series error codes

I have a Maytag Maxima frontload washer that was getting these two error codes. I found in my case it was due to the tub not draining water as quickly expected. On my model there were two screws at the bottom of the front panel (one on each side towards the floor) Once these screws were removed and my husband tilted the washer up I was able to get my hand behind the panel and unscrew the filter cap that is located towards the middle at the bottom. It is a large plastic circle that you unscrew. With your hand remove any gunk or objects blocking the filter (usually filled with gunk) screw the filter cap back in, screw the front panel screws in and try to run another load. I have had to do this twice so far. You would think if the filter needs to be cleaned out every year or so they would make it more easily accessible.

Asko W6021 won't fill. It clicks and starts, but no water fills drum. I've cleaned drain trap but don't know how to clean inlet filter as suggested in manual.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
The water inlet filters are inside where the hot and cold water supply hoses screw into the machine. Turn the water off, unscrew the hoses and they should be visible. However it might not be those causing the machine not to fill. If they needed cleaning the water would fill- but taking longer each wash.
If you confirm the filters are clear, it is more likely to be symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, or the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call ;-0(
Good luck,
John C

Slow Cold Water Fill

There is possibly a filter screen in the hoses as well as the water valve.Check the hoses for screens.Occasionally the water valve will deteriorate inside and must be replaced.
I am on a water well and have the same problem. This weekend I installed a inline filter purchased from Lowes. It has stopped the sand and silt problem. You will have to buy one extra water hose to do this yourself.

Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer model SAV515DAWW When filling, the cold water just trickles in and takes a long, long time to fill. When I unscrew the hose from the washer and turn the water on it...

From what you have said, you may have a bad solenoid in your water fill valve. it's the rubber piece under the debris screen. if you can get that out and replace it, you'll be golden.

How to access filter for kenmore elite front load washer

To access the pump drain filter, follow the instructions in the link provided:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

It is recommended by the manufacturer that if the pump still does not operate correctly after cleaning, to replace it. It does not take much to damage the motor and impeller of these small drain pumps.

The water fill problem is usually caused by a water inlet valve that is not shutting off properly. To access the fill valve solenoids follow these steps:

1. Unplug the washer.
2. Remove the top panel of the washer by removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, and then off.
3. The inlet valve is located at the left rear of the washer (as viewed from the front). This is where the fill hoses attach.
4. A resistance reading of the valve solenoids should be between 750 and 850 ohms.

If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water it is common for sediment and/or deposits to accumulate in the water inlet valve and cause problems with either filling or shutting off. you can attempt to remove the valve and clean it to see if this will correct the problem. Use white distilled vinegar to submerge the plastic portion of the valve in. DO NOT submerge the electrical contacts. Sometimes soaking in vinegar will dissolve and remove hard water deposits and sediment. If you wish to simply replace the valve, follow these steps:

1. Leave washer unplugged and remove electric connections to inlet valve.
2. Shut off water supply and remove fill hoses from the back of the washer.
3. Remove the dispenser hose from the inlet valve and remove mounting screw(s).
4. Install replacement valve in the reverse order of the steps provided.

Replacement parts can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com, or appliancepartspros.com. All three sites have great service and offer competitive pricing. I would recommend checking with all three sites for the best price. Use your model number to initiate your search.

GE Front Load Washer

Removing the lower front panel (3 screws nearest floor), and opening the round, white water pump filter cap (be ready to catch about 2 gallons of water!) is the best place to start. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver and a large, flat pan (deep turkey tray works well)!

YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE what I found in my filter housing this morning (see photo below)!

The washer is working fine now, although I may go back and remove the entire water pump so it can be dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, and reinstalled.

Have model 88675 with slow hot water fill

I once had this problem. The solution was to remove the hot water hose connection to the washer and look at the filter/screen inserted into the end of the hose connection on the washer machine. This screen protects the washer components from foreign particles entering. You may find a badly-clogged screen, so clean it. I have seen a cold water screen clean, while the hot water screen was clogged...something to do with hot water and minerals or iron in water.
