How to do factorials in more than one step

I don't know how to do factorials, when I have more than one step.

For example, 10! divided by (4!)(18!).

I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND BINARY


Where to start. Most things we do in math are in base 10, probably because we have 10 fingers. Instead of base 10, binary is base 2. In computers, binary rules because a bit can be set to ON or OFF, 1 being ON, and 0 being OFF.

So the next thing is counting. 0 1 10 11 100 101 110 111 1000 1001
Decimal equivalent 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

How to convert from binary to decimal? Line up the columns and multiply down. For example, 1101. The columns, starting from the right are 2^0, 2^1, 2^2, 2^3, reading ^ as exponent.

See if I can line these up. 1 1 0 1
2^3 2^2 2^1 2^0
8 4 2 1
multiplying down 8 4 0 1

Next step is to add them up. 8+4+1 = 13!

Going the other way, we have to divide by the largest 2^x number, so what is left over and continue dividing until nothing is left.

For example, 56. 2^5 (32) is the largest 2^x number that goes into 56, so we put a 1 in this column. Our remainder is 24. 2^4 (16) goes into this once, so we put a 1 in this column. Our remainder is 8. 2^3(8) goes into this once, so we put a 1 in this column. Now the remainder is 0 so we put a 0 in the 2^2 (4) column, 2^1(2) column, and 2^0 (1) column.

We end up with 111000.

How to convert percent to fraction

  1. Divide the percent by 100 to get decimal number.

Steps to dividing 1,000,000,000 into 31536000


This is effectively the same as moving the decimal point. You are dividing by a multiple of 10, called a power of 10 (like 100 or 10000 for example).

When you divide by a number like that, you are moving the decimal to the left, by however many zeroes in the divisor (9 places in this case).

So you have started out with 31536000.0, and when you move the decimal 9 places to the left, you get


0.031536

Like many other Casio calculators, the fx-83GT Plus doesn't provide the modulus function. You have to do it the hard way.
To calculate 19 MOD 10 (which is 9, not 10 as you state in your question), first divide 19 by 10 and note the integer portion of the result (in this case, 1). Then subtract from 19 the product of 10 and the result of the first step. The result of the subtraction is the modulus. 19 - (1*10) = 9.

The TI-84 is limited to numbers with at most twelve significant digits.

If you must know the EXACT value of 16!, try this. Calculate 14!. Note the two zeroes at the end. Strip them off by dividing by 100 and remember the two zeroes. Multiply by 15. Strip off the last zero by dividing by 10 and remember that we've now stripped off three zeroes. Multiply by 16. Add the three zeroes at the end to get a fourteen-digit number.

In this particular case the result is exactly what you get by using the FACT function. That's also true for 17!, but it breaks down past that because 18! has more than twelve significant digits.

The whole point of the calculator is to allow you to do calculations with a reasonable degree of accuracy, as opposed to exactly. You'll notice that it can't do a simple operation like dividing 1 by 3 and produce an EXACT answer---only a twelve-digit approximation.

How to find G.C.F. on a TI-30xIIs calculator?


I don't think there's specific key for this but you can do it this way:

  1. Divide those 2 numbers for which you want to find gcf
  2. If you get result as decimal number press keys [2nd][PRB] to display it as fraction
  3. Also if fraction you get is in form a b/c (ex. 1 2/3) you have to convert it to form d/c (for 1 2/3 that would be 5/3)
  4. Greatest common factor is then 1st number divided by numerator (or 2nd number divided by denominator)
For example:
  • You want to find greatest common factor of 30 and 18.
  • You divide them: you should get 5/3 (after converting result to fraction of form d/c, as described in steps 2 and 3).
  • This means that 30/18=5/3=5x/3x (x is gcf here).
  • Now you know that x=30/5=18/3=6 so greatest common factor is 6.

We would need the info from your metal tag on the surger motor before we can tell you what the power consumption would be.
So you will need to look on the metal tag that is attached to the surger motor and retrieve that information, you will need the amperage and the voltage.
But you can also figure out how many watts any appliance will consume in power...you will do some math.

If you want the watts,volts or amps for a given appliance follow the examples below:

Amps X Volts = Watts
example: 3.0 amps X 220 volts = 660 Watts
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Watts ( / ) divided by Amps = Volts
example: 100 watts ( / ) divided by10 Amps = 10 Volts
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Watts ( / )divided by Volts = Amps
example: 60 watts ( / ) divided by 120 volts = .5 Amps
( / ) = the right slash means...divided by.

if the ring has 41 and the pinion has 10 divide 41 into 10 = 4.10 so take and divide the higher tooth count and divide by lower tooth count another Example 44 Into 12 = 3.41 Ratio good luck
