To fix the problem you have to clean the encoder strip using cotton and isopropyl alcohol.

See below on how to clean the encoder strip

Take the toner out and turn the printer off and reinstall the toner. Turn it back on and it should align itself. If that doesn't work, if it's a single color take all the cartridges out and then you can slid the toner holder off of the belt. There is a circuit board on the back just like the toners. Don't touch that. Put it all back together and see if that fixes it. Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful. Good luck.

Changed ink cartridge now it won't work

Try removing the black and see if the error is still there. If it goes away the black is bad, if it stays you got a defective new color cartridge.

Error message on HP 2800 business inkjet, message reads 1% ink left on brand new cartridge

Hello,

View the user manual here. http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00449611/c00449611.pdf

go to page 60 and follow the instructions for replacing the ink cartridge, remember to have the printer on when you do.

Then go to page 62 and allign the print head automaticly following the instructions it gives.

This will re-callibrate the ink level on the printer and should read correctly for you.

Thanks

Printer wont load paper

To align the color cartridge, simply try taking the cartridge out, and putting it back ini. Most often on Lexmark printers, this will bring up a message asking if your cartridges are new or old and of what number they are. after this menu you will likely be forwarded to a printing alignment page
