Hi Geezelouweez,
I had the same problem of blue screen on start up often. I replace my 1 Gb memory module and everything is fine! Though it can be cause by Motherboard but chances are more on Memory.

Regards
Van

Sometimes dell has a program that can check your hardware for errors. check all the disks they sent you. It won't be on the name of the disk but it should be on one of them. good luck.

Error 53000921

Your video processor has a problem, seems like it is overheating:
graphic glitches on startup blue screen
Also, my computer would blue screen on me when i tried to run a high end graphical game, in this case Guild Wars.
I ran a full length diagnostic on my video card, and over half the tests failed.
I had many errors in the reading and writing of video memory, and failed tests of whether a page was void of colour errors and such.
I wrote down all the error codes and they are as follows:
5300:0119
5300:031E
5300:051D
5300:0820
5300:0921
5300:0B21

graphic glitches on startup blue screen

If you're under warranty, call Dell with the error information and they will replace the video card. If you're out of warranty, you can order a card:

I recently had my motherboard replaced by a Dell technician due to video problems. Ever since it was replaced I've been getting blue screen errors saying Hardware malfunction, random sudden restarts, and...

If this happened after the dell technician called, ring back and complain, if your not happy with the result, i would talk to an advice orginisation. In the UK we have places like the C.A.B. ( Citizens Advice Bureau )

Startup repair failed. cant get to startup screen

did you back-up your important files?, if you did, then you need to reformat your hard disk drive (hdd) and reinstall new system.  but if you didn't backup your important files, ask for help at the service center near you, cause it need another hdd to backup some files.  then if you have nothing to lose on your hdd then go ahead to reformatting. sometimes that error occur when it didn't undergo proper shutdown

Blue screen with dell logo??

This is usually called the "Blue Screen of Death" and the system tries to dump memory

See if you can Read any of the text which may detail the error

Try starting it in safe mode by tapping F8 every few seconds during startup

If it starts post back and i'll tell you how to use system restore

If it still fails then call in an Engineer
