Unplug the base unit and when you plug it
back in the handset should work

Panasonic KX-TCD25AX cordless phone. Why can't it find the base station?

several reasons
too far away from the base station
too much interference between the phone and the base station ( buildings, iron sheeting etc)
the phone is not programmed into the base station memory-- re do the system program where the base station recognizes each phone and sets it's number for identification

Both handsets tell me to move closer to base

Is the phone base near any microwave ovens, radios, televisions and other electronic products that could cause radio-frequency interference (RFI)? How far away from the base are you when it tells you to move closer to it?

Panasonic kx-tg2730 my extra cordless phone (2) tells me i'm too far away from base (1) when i'm right nexr to it. how can i connect it to the base?

One of the functions of your handset is REGISTRATION or RE-REGISTRATION. It involves stepping to that command, pressing enter, then pressing the handset locator button on the base and the two units can link up.

#1. No link to base. #2. Short distance usage.

That sucks. I have a Panasonic cordless 5.8 ghz set that is probably 3 years old and I have not had any of the problems you are complaining about. You might be getting interference from a wireless router or even a baby monitor. Is the phone near a wireless router? Most of the newer phones automatically select the channel with the least interference. Try moving the main base to another room there is obviously something causing interference with that phone.

Our Panasonic system shows "No link to base walk closer" for any of the handsets even when 2 inches from the base. Seems the base has stopped communicating.

Often times when this happens try putting the phone back in the base unplug from the wall for about 30 seconds plug back in wait about a minute then try again. I have seen where you may need to also try unplugging the battery from the phone for a minute put it back in and place in the base. Its a communication problem with the phone to base connections and resetting the power often clears this up.
Hope this helps!

Interference on cordless Panasonic phone

The wireless signal is most likely your culprit. Wireless-B and Wireless-G signals operate at 2.4GHz frequency, which is the same that many cordless phones use.

Some wireless routers will allow you to change the channel that they broadcast on -- that might help your interference problem slightly, but it probably won't make it go away completely. Your best bet is to keep the cordless phone a good distance away from the computer and wireless router (if not in another room, at least on the other side of the room).

Hope that helps!
