Question about Sony KDF-E60A20 60 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

Sony 61" lcd has bluish spots in screen, any ideas?

My 61" lcd sony tv has a blue haze that fades the picture on the right center and bottom right corner of the street. Very visible when screen displays green and other light colors. The lcd bulb was recently changed, could this be a byproduct of that?

My 2+ year old 60" Sony LCD rear projection has a blue area in the lower left hand corner of the screen. I replaced the bulb around 4 months ago.

Almost same problem. We have a blue spot forming on the lower right side of our tv and little specs of blue all over the left side.

I also have a blue area in the bottom right hand corner of my Sony 50" LCD. It is spreading the center right part of the screen. It is particularly evident when the screen background is green.

Mine is a Sony 52 HD with the same issue. Little blue pixels, like a galaxy of stars, with blue blurr on the right side of the screen. You can also see waves scanning from bottom to top within the blurr, just like CRT's used to do when scanning.

Hello, inside the set there is an optical unit with 3LCD panels. Somehow the dust particles came into your set and now the dust is all over the optical unit and 3LCD panels. Only way to solve this issue is to clean the dust. Please contact your Sony dealer. Best regards, Arpi

Bluish color right coener

I'm afraid, it is problem of optics unit block (light engine), there are 3 LCDs red-green-blue for color picture formation and blue LCD sounds bad, please call local TV tech for fix.
Thanks.

You have a problem within the light engine. This a hugely expensive. If the set is not too old you could contact Sony and see if they will help you out. Otherwise it is not eceonomical to repair

Blue spot

the model number KP-51WS510 deosnt use a bulb or lamp. and touching the face of the lamp will not cause color problems in the picture. if your tv is an LCD projection then i would suspect the optical engine as the culprit. to check when you turn the tv off do you still see the blue distortion? if so then you have a bad optical engine.......as long as it is an LCD projection.
