It's mold from the moisture, make a mix of 1 part bleach to 5 parts water and spray it, the black may not go away entirely but it will kill the mold.

Hello, if you have a humidifier running along with your furnace than it is set to high and must be turned down. Usually this is what causes condensation to form on the windows due to a big temp differance and humididty between the indoor air and outside air.

There is black "dust"all over

the dv 215 uses no room air for the combustion. it is called a sealed combustion unit all combustion air and vent gases are outside of the building. look at the vent cap outside. is it black? if not unit is most likely working ok. if it is black you need to have it checked. so unless the unit has been damaged you should be getting no air from the combustion into your room.

I have a ventless heater, my house is covered in black soot, i also have a carbon minoxide detector it's never went off, what is it?

Your ventless appliance probably needs cleaned-the combustion burners and air passages need blown out with compressed air or vacuumed. also ensure you have supply of outside air into your house. if your house is sealed up pretty tight you need to crack a couple windows to let air in. There is no such thing as a truely "ventless"..what they mean is ..properly maintained and operated ventless heaters with proper ventilation are safe to use inside. also be aware that other chemicals in the air of your house from candles and air freshners, cleaning agents, etc will burn in the ventless heaters creating toxic pollution.

My ventless gas heater smells like kerosene..wont burn off? makes us sick !!! bad headaches, watery eyes..gas co came , said it wasnt the gas?...no matter how long it burns, wont go away,we have cleaned it...

Stuff in the air can make you very sick when it is burned, is it Natural Gas or LP? Sometimes you can get bad LP gas that will burn your eyes. I would open a window to get more fresh air and try to let it burn to get whatever is making the problem out of the air.

Foodsaver compact vac 550 sealing strip doesn't seal

My machine stopped working because the sealing ribbon was broken and the tape was worn. FoodSaver no longer does repairs. I knew the wire was called nichcome ribbon so I searched that. I checked the resistance of the ribbon on my machine, it was about 3.8 ohms. I found a site called mpakonline.com and from their site I bought 1/16 x .005 nichrome ribbon and 3/8 x 5 MIL. x 18 YD Acrylic Teflon Tape. The total cost of these items was about $36.00, the ohm value of their ribbon was 1.66 somewhat less.I used ends from radio shack made the repair and it has been working fine for the last two months and I have enough material leftover for about ten more repairs.

Too much sweat is on my windows in cold weather.

Vent free is the problem, 1 of the combustion byproducts is a large amount of water vapor. Crack a door to the room a little and maybe even a windw slightly (as it most likely states in the owners manual) and see if the problem goes away.

high himidity + warm air+ cold window glass = condensation

fresh air circulation = less condensation and also less CO and other bad things in the air you are breathing...just because its vent free does not mean its not dangerous in a tightly closed room. The vent frere designation assumes a certain number of air changes per hour and you are not getting them.
