See the link below for product specifications. The simple way to go is an external usb adapter for wireless, since your motherboard only has one PCI slot and it likely has a 56K modem installed in it. Remember to put the driver disk which comes with your adapter in the CDROM/DVD drive BEFORE you plug in the usb adapter , and follow the installation directions carefully - unrecognized usb devices can be difficult to remove...
Your best solution will be to take your desktop computer to a computer-store, so that they can identify what new video-card (PCI? PCI-E? AGP2X? AGP4X? AGP8X?) will be compatible with your motherboard.
Also, the smaller the computer-store, the more likely that they will install the new video-card for FREE, after you have bought the new video-card from them.
Def Wouldnt be putting in more cards, there is obviously something wrong. Either your Power supply aint putting out enough power or the pci slot that your cards are getting put into is messed up. First of all run without a graphics card(if u have integrated graphics
card). Do some stability test with software like
Sandra(www.sisoftware.net). If ur pc ran nicely and stable then
definately it is a power supply issue.
Solution one : Get PCI wireless adapter which you will insert in an empty PCI slot inside your computer.
Solution 2. Buy a USB wireless adapter, which you plug in a USB port. However, if my memory serves me right, that particular HP pavillion is 5 or 6 years old, and it does support USB 2.0, just USB 1.1
My advice to you is to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card to be installed in an empty PCI slot )or in the one occupied by the firewire )if not needed). This card will provide 4 or 5 USB 2.0 adapters. Then buy a USB wireless adapter, which you will be able to use with other computers.
Hope It helps. Rate this solution if it helps you.
The brand of RAM is not important, it's the type, you'll need SDRAM for that and an AGP4X type of graphics card... here's some several selections
GEFORCE4MX440SE/6M AGP4X
SIS 315, 256-BIT AGP 4X VGA CARD
GREEN ATI 7000 SERIES CARD
Hope this helps... Just don't forget to rate - thanks.
