Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

This is an Issue with scanner

To restore the factory-set defaults
On the all-in-one control panel, press Menu.
Use the < or the > button to select Service, and then press .
Use the < or the > button to select Restore defaults, and then press .
The all-in-one automatically restarts.

Note: This procedure clears fax numbers and names that are associated with one-touch keys and speed-dial codes, and deletes any pages that are stored in the memory. The procedure then automatically restarts the all-in-one

You can also trun off the printer, and clean the scanner bed.

If still wont work, call HP (1-800-474-6836) or take it the HP service center.

Shrey

I need the cord that goes into my computer. Where can i buy one and what is the name of it?

You can buy a USB cable at any store that has computer accessories (Walmart, Radio Shack or computer stores). For the scanner, you need a cable with A and B ends (Male on both sides). You do not need a cable with any of the specialty mini connectors.

I hope this helps.

(I've even found USB cables at Home Depot.)

This is the first itme I have used the scanner. I

Most scanning software name it 'image0001' and store it in 'mydocuments' by default. There must be some provision for giving a name and redirecting it to a folder of your choice. You can also search for image files and by sorting timewise, you can locate the latest (last scanned) file.

Computer can't find my network

Quickest way to find out your network name is to goto the start menu / control panel / system / then click on the "computer name" tab

Whatever is after WORKGROUP is your network name it is usually MSHOME or WORKGROUP

If you mean your wireless ssid etc then that information is stored on your router and if you check your manual it will tell you how to access it to see the information

Even though the x is not entered in the over write existing files box it over writes but adds a numerical 1 or 2 to get over it. How does one stop it from overwriting with the same file name. Example file...

It's not overwriting. It's creating a new file with a different name, as long as the number extension is different. As long as you store files in the scanner memory you will be limited in naming protocols...
See this discussion for further help, and an explanation of how to store files anywhere you browse to. Then you simply create a new folder to store your scans in and name it whatever you choose.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Bar Code Used as Document Name

It's not really an issue with the scanner. The scanner will pick up the image and convert it to whatever you want, but your backend software is what you'll need to mess with for this. Any form recognition software will work (Form Storm, ABBYY FormReader, etc.)
