Any computer shop would have them.. You might also consider finding a handy little unit (they call it a wireless adapter) that just plugs into a U.S.B. port. It looks quite a bit like a flash drive. I bought mine at Walmart. I'm noticing that you have the numbers for a wireless card, do you have one already that isn't functioning correctly?? If such is the case, you might only need a proper "driver" installed in your computer for that wireless card. You very well might have to install a driver for any new network card you might find and buy.... but, a driver disk usually comes with the network card... Good luck..

Wireless connection or hardwired ethernet ?

Which ISP are you contracted to give them a call let them know of your problems or go to another ISP and phone company
Wi-Fi Internet is a popular and convenient way of accessing web pages and other online applications. A wireless router broadcasts an Internet signal, which enables a computer with a wireless capability to access online applications and sites. Problems with wireless connections require a different approach to troubleshooting than traditional, wired Internet connections. If you find that the wireless connection on your laptop frequently drops out, take a few troubleshooting steps to narrow down the issue and restore your laptop's full functionality.

Reset your network by unplugging the power cords of your Internet modem and wireless router. Wait 30 seconds before replugging the power cords. Restarting your computer will allow the devices to run through their full boot cycle. Test your connectivity after rebooting to verify whether it remains more consistent after the reset. Test your wireless Internet consistency on another Wi-Fi connection that you're legally allowed to use, such as a free public Wi-Fi hotspot. If the connection stays consistent when you're away from home, the problem is likely localized to your home wireless network. If the connection drops no matter which wireless network you are connected to, the problem is more likely with your laptop's wireless card or internal wireless device. Connect the Ethernet cable directly from one of the numbered Ethernet ports on the wireless router to one of the Ethernet ports on your computer. This is a useful way of testing whether the Internet connection is dropping altogether or if your laptop is merely losing its wireless signal strength. If the connection stays more consistent this way, contact the manufacturer of the router or of your computer's wireless card to troubleshoot the device. Plug the Ethernet cable directly from your Internet modem to one of your computer's Ethernet ports. Bypassing the router is useful for further narrowing down the source of your issue. If the connection stays more consistent this way, your router is likely the source of the problem and you should contact the manufacturer of the router for assistance. If the connection continues to drop, contact your Internet service provider to address a possible issue with your modem. wireless network card Go to the Start menu and open the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, open the Device Manager. Locate Network Adapters in the Device Manager list. Click on the plus sign next to Network Adapters to expand a list of all networking devices on your computer. Your wireless card should be listed, and most likely a LAN adapter as well. Alternately, you can open the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel, and then click on "Manage Network Connections." Find your wireless connection in the list and right-click it, then select "Status." Under the Status menu, click "Details." This will produce a list of information about your Internet connection, including your wireless card.
Test a Wireless Network Card b> laptop or desktop computer that has no built-in wireless capability needs a wireless network card installed in order for the computer to detect and connect to wireless connections. Before you can establish wireless connection, however, you need to make sure that that your wireless network card is working properly.

Ensure that the wireless network card is properly installed in the computer. A wireless network card can come as a PC/PCMCIA card that only needs to be inserted into a PC card slot in your computer, or it may be a wireless PCI card that needs to be installed inside the computer. Wireless PC/PCMCIA cards are usually used for laptops while wireless PCI cards are installed in desktop computers. Install the driver of the wireless network card. Note that if the driver is not installed, the wireless network card will not be able to communicate with the computer. Insert the installation CD into the optical drive, wait for the computer to recognize the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Finish the installation procedure and then reboot the computer. If you do not have the installation CD, download the installer/driver from the manufacturer's website. Check if the computer can detect wireless networks and Internet connections. Access the "System Tray" at the bottom-right corner of your screen and double-click the "wireless icon." Browse through the list of available wireless networks and then connect to any one of them. If there is no "wireless icon" in your system tray, the wireless card may not be properly installed to the computer or the device may be malfunctioning. If you cannot connect to a wireless connection, ensure that you entered the correct network password (if connecting to a secured network).

Wireless antenna or wireless router

Did your ISP Boingo supply you with a DSL or cable modem with a built-in wireless router? If only a DSL or cable modem is supplied and you wish to connect to the Internet by wireless then you need to connect a wireless router to this DSL or cable modem.

You can connect to the Internet using a LAN cable from your laptop to the DSL or cable modem.
If your laptop as a built-in wireless card you can to the Internet via the wireless router.
If you laptop does not have a built-in wireless card then you can install a PCMCIA wireless card into the card slot of your laptop to the Internet via a wireless connection.

Laptop wireless card problem. I bought a used computer. I've never had a laptop with a wireless card. It worked fine. Two lights blinked on the card. All of the sudden i couldn't get the internet....

If you do not have a wireless router which is connected to your Internet servce provider and now your laptop does not connect to the Internet then, you could have connected to your neighbour's Internet connection.
The reason why you cannot now get Internet access is, this neighbour has discovered unauthorized access to their unprotected wireless connection and has taken security steps to prevent further unauthorized access.

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then - To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSL or cable modem.

Please what is Wifi and where can i find the button to turn it on or off.

WiFi is a wireless connection, if you have a wireless router and it is connected to the Internet, then you can connect to the Internet using the wireless card in your D600.
If you don't have a wireless router, then you can connect to the Internet at a free WiFi hot spot at locations such McDonalds, Starbucks and the airport.
This model D600 may not have a wireless card installed.
If it has it will be an Intel {ro wireless card. Check the Device Manager - Network Adapters, if you do not see a wireless adapter then you do not have a wireless card installed.
If you have a wireless card and the wireless driver is installed the you are ready for wireless connection. There is no button to turn on the wireless card, it will be ready to use.
If you require information on setting up your own wireless network, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

How do I hook my wireless usb netopia chip in order to sign on the internet

You ned to contact an Internet Service Provider to determine if your USB wireless adapter is compatible with their service.
Read this info for an idea on how to connect to the Internet :-

There several ways to connect to the Internet.
1. You can use a cable or DSL modem and connect this modem to the laptop with a LAN cable.
2. You can use a wireless router with a cable or DSL modem and connect to the wireless router using a wireless card (a PCMCIA wireless card or the laptop may have a built-in wireless card). This wireless card can also be used in WiFi locations such as the airport, McDonalds and Starbucks etc.
3. You can use an USB G3 wireless adapter. This type of device uses the G3 mobile network and may not give you Internet coverage in some locations.
All these require an Internet Service Provider and the costs vary widely depending upon the various plans they offer. Check the ISP in your area and compare the plans and cost of their plans and pick the one that best suits your needs.

How a conect to internet

METHOD 1 - Using Internet connection using DSL or cable connection.
1st. If you wish to connect to the Internet with a LAN cable or a wirelessly and if your computer doesn't have a LAN card or wireless LAN card you need to purchase a LAN card (to configure the wireless router) and if you want a wireless connection you will also need to purchase a wireless LAN card.
2nd. You need to select an Internet Service Provider in your area with a plan and cost to suit your requirements.
3rd. You need to decide what type of broadband connection you need, DSL or cable modem with or without a built-in wireless router, the Internet Service Provider can assist you with this.
5th. The Internet Service Provider can supply these items or advise you what make and model to purchase. They will also provide information on how to connect and setup your Internet connection.

METHOD 2 - Using USB wireless adapter that plugs into the laptop's USB port. It doesn't need a wireless router or a cable or DSL modem.
This is used mostly on laptop computers which allows Internet access anywhere the Internet Service Provide has a wireless transmitter. It uses the G3 mobile system.
This type of service usually costs more and again you need to select an Internet Service Provider that can provide the wireless coverage, the plan and costs that suit your requirements.
Installation and setting up information is supplied by the ISP.
