you could use an external memory card reader, or you could install the easy share software that came with your camera on a disk, or download it from Kodak (after registering your camera) here: KODAK Support
After you installed (and only then) you can connect the camera and the software will allow you not only to down load the pictures, you also can manage them with the software in folders and so on.
Before you can download pictures from a camera to a computer, you have to install the software that came with the camera. First install the software, than connect the camera and switch it on.
The computer needs to know what it should do with the new device connected to the USB port. So a driver and a program have to be in place to tell the computer, not to charge the camera, but to down;road pictures. If you lost your Kodak CD, you can download the software here: Search
Did you install Kodak Picture Easy Software already?
To transfer pictures from your camera to the computer, you need this software (and the driver that comes with it)
If you done't have the software, try to get it with Kodak, or use an external memory card reader, to transfer the pictures from the memory card to the computer. That must work.
You have to transfer the pictures and videos in the internal memory to your computer. For this you have to download and install Kodak software on your computer.
( Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet. When you connect the camera to the computer, the KODAK Software Downloader automatically runs. Follow the prompts to download and install KODAK Software.)
Please follow the steps below to connect your camera to your computer; 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Use the KODAK Camera USB Cable, U-8 to connect camera to computer. (Use only the cable included with this camera!) 3. Turn on the camera. After the software is installed, follow the prompts to transfer pictures and videos to your computer.
* If the downloader does not run, find and launch it: • WINDOWS OS: in My Computer • MAC OS: on your Desktop
Note: You can use the Memory card to save the pictures and videos taken on your camera. In this case you can also use a card reader to transfer your pictures/videos.This prevents the user from connecting the camera every time to transfer data.Eject the memory card and insert it into the card reader.
Please feel free to ask your doubts. Thanks for choosing Fixya.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated.
You can download Kodak software from
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
Try to install the software on your computer first. Here are the steps:
Close all software applications that are open on your computer (including anti-virus software).
Place the Kodak EasyShare software CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Install the software: Windows OS-based computer-if the install window does not appear, choose Run from the Start menu and type d:\setup.exe where d is the drive letter that contains the CD. Mac OS X-double-click the CD icon on the desktop, then click the Install icon.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. Windows OS-based computer-select Complete to automatically install the most commonly used applications. Select Custom to choose the applications you wish to install. Mac OS X-follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted, take a few minutes to electronically register your camera and software. This lets you receive information regarding software updates and registers some of the products included with the camera. You must be connected to your Internet service provider to register electronically. To register later, see www.kodak.com/go/register.
Restart the computer. If you turned off anti-virus software, turn it back on. See the anti-virus software manual for details.
