Trouble downloading a recording from ipro recorder
I have used this program for months and it's worked fine. I recorded a meeting the other night, and am trying to download it, and it goes through all the proper steps but then it just hangs there in the download - ack!

Make sure the receiver is powered off each night so it can receive updates through the satellite to the guide.
You can force a guide download by unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, you can run a check switch test from Menu > System Setup > Installation > Point Dish > Check Switch > Test. Let it finish, then exit out of the menu and let it acquire signal and download the guide.

You have to make sure there are drivers installed for the microphone device you want to use. You can check that in Control Panel, Sound, Recording tab. If you have a microphone installed all the settings you can set for it will be there. Also, make sure that whatever program you are using is set to use the recording device you want. This is normally set to 'system default', but can also be accompanied by a drop-down list of all recording devices on the system. You can test all installed recording devices from the Control Panel, Sound, Recording tab to ensure that they do work correctly. If they do work there, but not in the program you are using, then the problem is in the program settings.
My creations preview great but when I press the save to DVD nothing happens, I am not saying is a smilebox problem, but It used to work just fine. I am just wanting to know what to do because I just wasted 40 bucks if I cannot burn it
Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.
try cleaning the record head, Most people only clean the play back heads on tape players, the record head is just off to one side of the main playback heads , you can use a Qtip and rubbing alcohol to do the cleaning
Somehow, my HDD/DVD recorder recorded correctly 2 times last night, even if I did not do anything specific to fix. I will keep an eye on new occurences of this problem, but it appears at the moment that the issue disappeared by itself.
DVD-Rs do work with the RDR-VX500 ...... I had not recorded on mine for a few months after I ran out of the last batch ....... then I tried recording on the newer Sony DVD-Rs I had ...... would not record on DVD-R ..... turns out the instructions say the recorder will not work with any DVDs faster than 8x .... It looks like it's recording but it doesn't ..... then I noticed the newer DVDs were 16x ...... found an old 8x and tried it and it works fine ..... turns out the unit won't record slower on a 16x, it just won't record at all ...... get 8x and you'll be ok
I have a ag 1960 deck in new condition(I bought it new has about 10 hours on recorder). I have not use it for a year. everything works execpt it will not record vido or audio, the counter will not work. It was never droped?
I had this problem. I found that when you record from the EPG it can change quite frequently. When this happenes then your recording will automatically get deleted. To sort this out I would use the Guide plus system on your box and then the problem wont occur any more
