What causes error in Auto Iris in Epson projector

Most times cleaning the gears on the auto iris motor will clear this issue. May need to be replaced.

Auto iris error what can be done no display out

open the cover , unplug the flexible cables and other cable connectors, open the mainboard, remove the IRIS motor unit, clean the gear after that put in super lube into the gear.then plug it in again. if the same problem replace the IRIS motors.
be sure to change the lamp.

The two red lights are flashing on the top of the projector. i cleaned the filter and that did not help. it says in the user's guide it could also be the auto iris but i do not know how to get to the...

the auto iris or cinema filter is not changing position.
This could be due to a connector problem, build up of dust around these devices etc.

If you unplug the unit and take the cover off carefully, look around the lens area for any dust or obstacles that may be blocking the movement of these two items.
Also check the leads going to them to see if they are connected properly

Auto iris error

that means internal iris system is not working. Open the cover, be careful not to damage the flexible flat connector to the panel control, check iris motor and gear, maybe are dirty, clean all, and put little grease

My projector shows an auto iris error.I should power off and contact my nearest epson service provider

Check the troubleshooting page for the iris error in the owner's manual of the projector. I strongly believe you will still be refered to the service provider. Nevertheless, try troubleshooting and see how it goes.
