There have been numerous versions of that model from all the manufacturers, most of them using the Intel 9xx and P3x chipsets, the rest using the X4x series of chipsets. All of them use the ICH 9 or 10 southbridge chips and none of that chipsets have native support for Firewire connections.
On the very few motherboards that do have an Firewire connector, it's always with an separate chip. So to be sure of the answer we need to know the exact model of your motherboard. If you don't know it then install and run this program
