This is a failure code for a fuel composition sensor and man are they proud of these sensors. Last time I put one on the price for the sensor was almost 500.00. This does usually not cause a driveability problem. Here is a circuit description

Alcohol content and fuel temperature information is supplied to the powertrain control module (PCM) from the fuel composition sensor (FCS). The FCS has an ignition 1 circuit, a signal circuit, and a ground circuit. The FCS uses a microprocessor inside the sensor to measure the ethanol percentage and fuel temperature, and changes output signals accordingly. The signal circuit carries both the ethanol percentage, and the fuel temperature within the same signal. The signal is both variable frequency and variable pulse width. The frequency signal indicates the ethanol percentage, and the pulse width indicates fuel temperature. The PCM provides an internal pull up to 5 volts on the signal circuit, and the FCS pulls the 5 volts to ground in pulses. The normal range of operating frequency is between 50-150 Hz. The normal pulse width ranges between 1-5 milliseconds. If the PCM detects a signal less than 45 Hz DTC P0178 will set.

Your stall when put in gear is most likely due to a dirty throttle body (carbon build up). Remove the air intake tube to the throttle body & use a spray can of carb spray & a shop towel to clean the carbon from the throttle bore & plate.

Fuel Composition Sensor Replacement - Removal Procedure
Turn OFF the ignition.
Relieve the fuel pressure

Raise the vehicle.
Remove the fuel composition sensor fuel composition sensor (FCS) attachment nuts (1).

Disconnect the FCS inlet and outlet pipes from the FCS.

Disconnect the FCS electrical connector (1).
Remove the FCS and bracket assembly from the frame rail.

Remove the FCS bolts and remove from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

Install the FCS to the bracket and install bolts.
Tighten bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Install FCS and bracket assembly to frame.

Install FCS bracket to frame nuts.
Tighten nuts (1) to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

Connect the FCS inlet and outlet pipes to the FCS.

Connect the FCS electrical connector (1).
Lower the vehicle.
Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Hope this helps.

I'm using d-link dwl-3200 ap ( three) Received Frame FCS Error Counts indicate a problem? ___________________________________________ WLAN 802.11G Traffic Statistics Throughput Transmit...

Transmitted Error Count 4734440

Ack Rcv failure Count 15269951

  • As per the above there are error on Transmitting the packet and also for receiving the acknowledge packet.
  • Please check whether any disturbance in the link
  • Each PPP packet has a checksum attached to ensure that the data being received is the data being sent. If the FCS of an incoming packet is incorrect, the packet is dropped and the HDLC FCS count is increased.
  • Another reason for seeing too many FCS errors may be that the remote end has stopped talking PPP.

Instructions to replace fuel composition sensor

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Relieve the fuel pressure
  3. Remove the fuel composition sensor FCS attachment nut.
  4. Remove the 2 FCS attachment bolts.
  5. Remove the FCS from the frame rail.
  6. Disconnect the FCS inlet and outlet pipes from the FCS.
  7. Disconnect the FCS electrical connector.
Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the FCS inlet and outlet pipes to the FCS.
  2. Connect the FCS electrical connector.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  4. Install the attaching nut.
  5. Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft)
  6. Install the 2 FCS attachment bolts.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft)

I have an Olympus 1010. I took a few pics of my son, changed his outfit, and now all the pics are white, like they are overexposed. I have played with every setting on the camera with no luck

What happens if you try to reset the camera back to its factory settings. Does it still overexpose the images? TO reset the camera go to Menu - left arrow to Reset - press Ok - up arrow to Yes and press Ok. The camera will now be back in factory settings. If the images are still overexposed, it may be a repair issue with the image processing functionality.
