The 'motherboard' is the term used for the main circuit board in a system. The add-on on cards would be referred to as daughter cards.

Being the main board in your PC, it would contain most of the circuitry for the unit. It is not considered a serviceable part. If it goes bad, it is usually swapped out for another like it.

Hope this helps...

There is no explanation for the use of function keys. Can I find an explanation somewhere? Also there is a key with window logo next to Fn key, what is its function. Thank you

These function keys are synonymous to the Multimedia Keyboard. You can change the volume level or monitor brightness/contrast level by pressing and holding these function keys. For example, hold function key and press volume up key (F4/F5/F6/F7/F8 -- depending upon your Laptop Model) to increase the volume which you could do from the volume tray icon in the taskbar. This is most useful, when you are playing a full-screen game or a Cinema or such like any full-screen operation and do not want to abort your pace of work and get back to the desktop. I have mentioned only one usefulness of this function key and there are lots of such operations if you know them properly.

Now, the Windows Logo key....there are innumerous operations. Such like, the most widely used operation is axn_almighty.jpg+D which is used to show the desktop. You are using a full screen operation and you want to go back to desktop in no time, then use this combination. You want to log off (in XP) or lock your computer(Vista/Seven), use axn_almighty.jpg+L and your computer will be logged off or locked. If you are using Seven, then when more than two window is open, use axn_almighty.jpg+Tab to see what happens!! ( I will not tell you it just now! Enjoy this scenario! ). Due to shortage of time and space I will not be able to explain all the functions just now here......but you can surf the internet for more functions of these keys. I hope, you have enjoyed this article, thanks.

I have to know the coolest motherboard, the high tech kind of motherboard and its function.

You dont say what size format, Full ATX, Mini ATX, Micro ATX.
Intel or AMD.
Most High end motherboards costing over £200 look very cool and exotic.
Have a little search on google, Custom PC has some nice reviews http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/

Motherboard driver

That is probably an ECS motherboard but I can't be absolutely certain as I didn't see your exact specified model # on their site. I bet there is another # somewhere on the motherboard that will allow you to determine exact model #. To that end I recommend downloading and installing SciSoft Sandra ( newest version ) from here
This program should help you determine exact manufacturer and model #, and if it is an ECS motherboard as I suspect that it may be, then visit this site to find the motherboard on manufacturer website and download the drivers there.
In the long run you will be happy you used drivers from a manufacturers website vice the many so-called driver sites on the web. A lot less hassle.
