My sharp cd BA150 is in Protect mode. What can I do?

The protect mode indicates that a problem was detected in the final stage of amplification and the unit has shutdown to prevent further damage. These units use an AMP-pac part number: VHISTK40270N1 which is available at tritronicsinc.com for $53.09 plus shipping.

Protect error

The 'Protect' error means there is a DC voltage present in the output section(which should not be there). This can be caused by a defective output IC(the big IC on the heatsink). Disconnect the IC and see if the error goes away. Also check the resistors around the IC.

Sharp Stereo- Protect Mode??

Try plugging in a pair of headphones. I tried it without the speakers connected and since it found the headphones and they were OK the system came out of protect mode.
