Bought Photosmart 3310 all in one in Japan - need to reconfigure

That error code indicates a Ink system failure error message. Ink system failed mainly caused by your cartridge spitting extra inks into the copper contacts inside the printer. All you need is to remove all cartridge, clean the copper contacts at the back of it, clean also the contacts inside the printer (cartridge slots). Insert it back in after cleaning, unplug the power cord without turning off the printer, wait for 1 min before plugging it back in. Let me know the result.

Its simple sir, u can get a refill ink of 3 colours for it.

Turn off the machine using the power button, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges, wait 2 min, plug the power cord back in, press the on button, wait until the printer prompts that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink cartridges. If this doesn't clear the error then you may need to re-prime ink through the system to clear the error. Sorry, only a 177 will work. HP is very specific with their cartridges. There are many web sites that will refil this cartridge for you. They send you the newly refilled one and you put yours in the package they sent theirs in for a credit when they get it back to their facility. At least it will be a 177.

If you ran the ink cartridge refill routine, from your desktop using the utility supplied by HP, this should not occur, so try running the head cleaning and alignment routines and see if this clears up the problems.

I am assuming that all your cartridges are relatively full and trouble free and that the printer has been successfully and recently used, prior to your replacement of the one new cartridge.

Sometimes, if the printer has been idle for some time without use, the ink will dry on the heads of perfectly good cartridges, causing the problem you cite.

Use alchohol based cleaner with the kind pads supplied with a new cartridge to regularly clean the heads of your ink cartridges, according to instructions in your manual and CAREFULLY, so as to not damage the heads.

Phone HP.  After about a month hanging on, on their premium rate number, you'll finally be put through to someone who doesn't understand the problem.  Then, after your beard has grown another inch or two, if you're lucky, you'll actually get someone who understands the problem.  Some birthday's later, you'll be connected to a technician who can talk you through a simple number of keystrokes to re-configure the printer.
Reckon this cost me 30 UK pounds - seriously -  I had to call five times  but eventually it was done.

Actually you cannot use your # 363 ink on your photosmart c6180. The ink is not compatible with the printer. Photosmart c6180 only uses HP02 vivera inks. And there is no way that you can reconfigure it because it is factory default. Unless you bought an HP02 ink from other country outside US and bought the printer in US, that's the only time that we can reconfigure the regionalization of the printer

the printer should have software installed enabling you to opt, for a printer-ink cartridge change.
If the cartridge has a chip fitted, it may be discharged.
The chip is supposed to be charged up, for the printer to recognise the newly installed cartridge.
view your settings in control panel/printer/properties to see what options you have available.
