It depends on the operating system i.e Apple or PC, and the web browser you are using, i.e. Safari, Firefox, Internet explorer, Chrome etc. In general you have to click on preferences or tools, then look for Privacy somewhere. you can usually find a check box to selector deselect to accept or block cookies. If you reply with your browser and operating system, you may have a better chance of getting an accurate answer.

How to enable cookies on my Google account

Cookies are enabled or disabled by your browser settings.

The procedure for enabling cookies varies from browser to browser, but generally you want to launch the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and look for Options or Internet Options in the menu system for the browser.

From the options menu, look for privacy and/or security settings to see if cookies are disabled. In some cases, there may be an option to allow or disallow cookies for specific websites.

In recent copies of Firefox: If there is no menu at the top left, tap the Alt key to reveal the menu, click on Tools, then Options, then examine the Security and/or Privacy tabs for cookie settings to enable them.

Alternatively, in Firefox, try clicking the padlock or globe on the address line for the site you are attempting to access and examine the cookie settings for that site.

Have Win7 and IE 8. Son installed Google Chrome but it didn't work so then uninstalled it. Now can't access gmail (google mail) it keeps saying that cookies have been disallowed. But in checking to make...

Try these two things in IE 8:
Disable Content Advisor
  1. Open Internet Explorer, and click Tools along the top of your browser window.
  2. Select Internet Options... and click the Content tab at the top of the dialogue box. If the Content Advisor is enabled, please disable it.
  3. Click OK.
Clear Browser Cache
  1. Completely close IE; all browser windows. Now re-open IE.
  2. Click Tools > Delete private browsing history. (or press Ctrol-Shift-Delete at same time)
  3. Click the box next to 'Temporary Internet files' and 'Cookies' - so they are checked. Any other items checked here is at your own discretion.
  4. Click Delete button.
Now go to gmail.com and try to log-in again.
