This is a common problem for all combo units. The high voltage of the TV section attracts large amounts of particulate dust from the air and often it collects inside the DVD unit. The best way to deal with this is to clean the lens of the DVD unit u sing a cotton swab and alcohol. The store bought "cleaners" MAY work, but that is rare. These cleaners are nothing but small brushes embedded into a disc. They attempt to brush off hte dust. This rarely works. Open up the unit (if you feel comfortabel in doing so) to access the DVD section. Remove the top cover and carefully clean the lens. That should resolve the problem.

SOURCE: DVD Stuck in TV/DVD Combo
This may not sound technical, but I stuck the end of a paper clip into the opening until I could feel the dvd.....jiggled it a bit, and out it popped while pushing the eject button!!!

SOURCE: no remote
I you use a universal remote you might be able to use some of your programming features, you can get such a remote from Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target, or Wal-Mart. Now for the down side with the universal remote you will only get some of your programming functions as I said earlier. If you want all of those features you are going to have to contact the manufacture and order a remote for your television. There are places on line such as ebay, or amazon where you can buy a remote for this set, and this might be considered as an option also. In any event whether
you buy a universal remote or buy an OEM remote, you will need a remote to "properly" setup your TV. You can use the front panel controls for limited setup however doing that is tedious.
I hope this helps,

If the disc loads up and you can hear it spin, then you get the error, more than likely the optical lens has been damaged. This will have to be repaired by a local shop if its worth the cost. if the part is available it would probably run anywhere from 130-165 to repair
