Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

Sony TV cover removal

I have a blinking standby lamp. If someone knows the meanings of these codes, I will say what the pattern is. But my main query is how toget the cover off! I have removed 5 clearly marked and accesible screws aroubd the case. There are 2 arrowed holes at the top of the cover. These are a very small diameter and seem quite deep, and there is no visible screw. Poking a screwdriver down them does not seem to find a screw head.

I think the actual fault may be just a loose board or connection,as I have just moved the TV 10 miles.

Can anyone help with advice on removing the cover?

Note the product name is above, it would not allow me to enter this number.

I always thought that the arrows on Sony equipment were to indicate the fixing screws. It turned out that the two arrows at the top of the case (see my query) were NOT fixing screws but clips. Having removed the 5 marked screws and then manouvring the cover, it eventually clicked off the clips.

After wiggling all the boards around, the TV then worked again, but it took about 2 hours to get the cover back on, as there were so many things to line up, and as one side got into position, the other side popped out again.

If anyone can supply the meanings of the flashing light codes for this set, I would be grateful in case the fault happens again.

The TV is a Sony KV-29X1U (this website would not let me type this in to the right box, it said it was not a valid product).

Sony KV-32FS200 standby light blinks repeatedly for 15-30 minutes before it powers on

Hi,

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.

Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set will need to be serviced.
8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

Can't see picture on my samsung tv...lamp, timer and standby light are blinking on the power button

You need to replace the lamp. Order the correct type and code number (from samsungparts.com or the store where you bought the TV). Before starting the replacement, make sure the TV has been off for at least 30 minutes and unplug the set. Remove the phillips screw that holds the lamp cover and then the lamp cover itself. Remove the two screws that hold the lamp to the housing. Pull the old lamp out by the handle. Put the old lamp in a safe place until you can properly dispose of it.

Handle your new lamp carefully (wear gloves to avoid skin oils on the lamp). Put the new lamp in the housing and close up the TV by reversing the above steps (secure screws, replace lamp cover).

I hope this helps.

My Sony tv screen blinks off and on and timer/standby blinks 5

Yes....this blinking code is a diagnostic fault code which is a good thing, you count the number of blinks and it tells you where the problem is.....you also can see it by pressing the buttons, DISPLAY,CHANNEL,5,volume - not + ,then power....In your case it blinks 5 times, its in the video out,you need a desoldering iron, solder, rosin core 60%tin and 40%lead...remove and replace these,Q761,Q705,Q732 on the C board also Q218,Q219,Q220 on the A board.hope this helps.......

My Sony 42" DLP TV blacks out every 87 seconds. Then the green standby light blinks 30 times then I get picture and no sound. 7 more blinks after that I get sound. In 87 seconds later, it blanks out again...

Please replace Lamp in TV because this lamp is weak in result, causing darker picture and turning off and on TV.
Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual and its easy.
I would recommend to buy Sony original replacement lamp for TV safety.
Thanks.

Standby light stays on and the tv will not go on

Please check batteries in remote that seems not working. Sony TV would either turns On or standby light will blinks if TV gets any internal problem.
You question shows standby light stays On that means TV does not receive power on command from remote.
If standby light is blinking in sequence, let me know how many times it is blinking and also intimate exact model number of TV to find out possible solution.
Thanks.

Sony kv35s26 TV: no picture, audio works, stanby light blinks.

First a couple of questions:

1) Does the standby light blink continuously or is there a repeating pattern?

2) If there is a pattern, can you please post the blink count?

With the above information, I should be able to provide you with a couple of possibilities as well as a few tests to perform. Please update this and we'll continue to try and resolve this.

Thanks,
Dan
