Opened dishwasher just as it filled up to put in another glass, now the dishwasher won't wash or drain. Power button won't cut off or reset cycles. Turned off breaker, but still stuck on same cycles

You don't mention what make/model of dishwasher. Some diswashers, like my Bosch, require a reset procedure to "kill" a cycle that you've already started. They don't like to have the power button pressed during the cycle. The procedure to reset varies by make and model. If you have the owner's manual, you may check in there for the procedure.

Machine stuck in drain mode, & will not register in other cycles....turning machine off does not reset cycle?

Washers are computer and they must finish the program you last started. So with that being said the washer is trying to finish the cycle you start before it can move on. If it keeps draining there must be a clog in the pump. The water may be below the inner clothes basket so you can't see it. The washer knows it is not all drained out so it keeps trying. A model number would be helpful.

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help

One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

Dishwasher will operate only 10 min before stopping cycle

Check for places food could get stuck and clog the workings, including the drain hose.

How do i reset my whirlpool adg 7460 dishwasher ? programme seems stuck on end cycle?

Unplug it, move timer to start and plug back in. If it still seems stuck at the end it is almost certainly the timer. If it starts as normal, suspect the drain pump or pressure switch

you have a leak,or the something has the float stuck in the open position. when water gets in the base the float raises and the uni automatically drain until the water is out of base. if this helps post a 4 thumbs up post

Gets stuck on timer and wont count down

We had a similar situation with our LG washer. It was not a timer problem.
The machine was not entering the spin cycle and was just stuck in limbo. A sensor or something was not being satisfied and allowing the progression to the next cycle. Our problem had to do with the drain line; it seemed as if it was air locked?? After lowering the drain line height (to reduce the head pressure), and manually draining some water out of the drainage cap (where the strainer is located) onto the floor, the sensor became satisfied and the machine completed its cycles properly.

What told me that it was not a timer issue was the fact that on different wash settings (normal, heavy, quick cycle), the machine timer would get stuck at different countdown points (22mins, 12mins, etc.).

Will not shut off at end of the drain cycle

there should be a float behind the fill valve with a magnet in it which operates a reed switch. This switch keeps the pump running as long as the base has water in it or if the float is stuck on the up side (and makes the pump "think" that there's water in the base). Check this float to see if it's stuck and release it so it could tell the pump when to stop draining. Hope this solves your problem.
