Yes, you can buy the whole assembly and replace it. Replacing the assembly should fix your problem.

SOURCE: Whirpool dishwasher, top tray spray unit does not spin

When the spray arm does not spin and even the powder does get mixed in, your probably have a failing pump/motor.
Before you call for service, try the following. Remove the lower spray arm and filter beneath the spray arm (and as always, check for plugged spray holes and for any broken parts.) Screws will need to be removed to to this.
Rinse everything in the filter, removing anything that does not belong.
With a flash light, inspect the whole sump area, looking for anything that may be blocking water flow. Watch out for broken glass down there!
Look closely at the impeller, looking for damage and that it spins freely and is securely attached.
While you are looking down there, inspect the heating element for damage/being broken/bumpy when it should be smooth.
Reassemble and run a load of those gathering dirty dishes!
The detergent ~should~ dissolve and clean effectively. BUT, if you have recently bought a cheaper, generic dishwasher powder, buy yourself a name brand powder like Electrosol or Cascade and only use it. The cheaper stuff is junk and will rarely clean even in perfectly operating DWs.
If all this does not work, then the pump motor most often the problem and needs to be replaced. When it is being worked on, make sure the heating element is checked. If I were replacing the pump motor, I would also replace heating element at the same time.

SOURCE: I have the Whirlpool Quiet (??) Partner II. My

Have this same problem with my Whirlpool DU1145XTBA. Found out that when you start the unit, it fills with water. If the water does not rise above the filter mesh in the bottom center of the unit then the pump doesn't have enough water to supply pressure to the upper sprayer. Had to replace the Flow Meter. It tells the unit how much water to supply to the unit.

could be a few things clean inside filters and screens listen to it does the wash motor during wash sound strong like it tossing water around in there open the door during the wash see if kicks some water out at you. If it sounds and seems like its working ok then some units have a rubber check valve little flapper in the tube that goes up the back wall to the upper spray arm i have seem break off and clog that tub not allowing any water to the upper spray arm.

How do i remove the upper spray arm on a whirlpool quiet partner III dishwasher. It does not appear to be turning

There is a screw at bottom of arm. Try turning arm before taking screw out. I believe water pressure turns the arm, so if the arm doe not tur while machine is working then you either have a blockage from pump to arm or pump not working properly.

Our new quiet partner III by Whirlpool is not cleaning our dishes well and soil is even on the bottom after cycle is complete. We have softened water and our glasses come out cloudy too. Never happened...

I have a Maytag model MDB9100 about 9 years old that's not worked well recently. Here what worked for me.
If the obvious solutions listed in your owners manual don't solve your problem the filters may indeed be the problem. Start by removing the lower spray arm. There is no need to remove the arm from what I'll call the "arm base/cover assembly"; keep it clipped on. At the center of the arm is a knurled screw. It looks like a thin disk with several bumps on it, about 2 inches in diameter. It will unscrew (lefty-loosy) and allow removal of the arm assembly. At quick glance it appears to be a molded part of the arm but that's a clever disguise. Making this part a different color would be too helpful. What else would the Maytag repairman do it they made it easy for the do-it yourselfer?
Anyway, after removing the spray arm take note (or photos) of the visible parts, i.e, spray nozzle, 2 split plastic spacers. Be sure you'll be able to return these to their proper position later.
Remove the six torx (star-shaped) screws and lift the impeller cover off. Again note/photograph the position of remaining parts, i.e. filter, impeller. You will likely find the filter clogged with debris. It can be pulled out. On my model it is retained in a groove and take a bit of force to remove. I used water pressure (sink sprayer) and a toothbrush to clean my filter.
Remove any debris from the sump/ drain area. Reassembly is reverse of installation. Be sure to flush out the arm assembly to unblock all holes before re-installing it.
I hope this helps.

Whirlpool quiet partner II top rack sprayer doesnt work

The top rack spray arm doesn't work because of low water pressure from the wash motor or it's clogged with debris.
If the top spray arm looks clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm and lower feed tube to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part # 8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.
Good luck!
